Gucci Mane Mourns Death Of Ex-1017 Rapper Enchanting – A True Star

Gucci Mane is grieving the loss of his former 1017 Records artist, Enchanting. The 44-year-old rapper, whose real name is Radric Delantic Davis, shared a heartfelt tribute to the 26-year-old rising star on social media. “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting,” he wrote, expressing his sorrow.

Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, passed away following an overdose. A representative for the rapper revealed that she had been trying to get clean and had spent her last days at their house. “She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried,” the representative told The Shade Room.

Just a week before her untimely death, Enchanting had excitedly teased her fans about an upcoming music video. “Go sub n y’all go get a music video in bout 2 weeks,” she wrote on Instagram, showing her dedication to her craft until the very end.

Enchanting began her music career at 18 and initially struggled to find her unique voice. “I had to get comfortable with my voice,” she explained in a profile on the 1017 Records website. “Staying in the studio and constantly recording, it helps me find the style I can be good at.” She was briefly signed to 1017 Records in 2020 and released five studio albums, with her most recent being 2022’s ‘Luv Scarred/No Luv (Deluxe)’.

Her boyfriend, MotionGod Bandman, also paid tribute to her on social media. “You finally found that peace that you was looking for,” he wrote on Facebook, mourning the loss of his partner.

Gucci Mane broke his silence on June 11, taking to Instagram to express his grief. “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting,” he wrote, accompanied by a photo of Enchanting.

Earlier that day, Enchanting’s sister had revealed on Facebook that the rapper was on life support, sharing a series of emotional messages pleading for her recovery. Friends and family confirmed the news of her passing, with Lil CJ Kasino writing a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. “They Pulled The Plug Bro This Shit So Fucked Up I Just Knew You was Finna Pull Threw @luvenchanting You gone Forever Be Stop6 Princess & Kasino First Lady,” he wrote, expressing his deep sorrow.

Enchanting joined Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records in 2020 and was still associated with the label as recently as early 2024. Her latest project on the label was a deluxe version of her 2022 album ‘No Luv,’ titled ‘Love Scarred/No Luv (Deluxe),’ which was released in February 2023.

The young rapper’s death has left a void in the music industry. Enchanting had been on life support before her family made the difficult decision to take her off. The cause of death has not been officially revealed, but it is known that she was suffering from withdrawals and had overdosed.

In a statement to The Shade Room, a representative from her management team said, “She came to my house the last four days to get clean. She tried her best and I did everything I could to help her, she tried.”

Enchanting’s profile on the 1017 Records website described her music style as “trap-n-blues.” She had previously opened up about the challenges she faced in finding her voice, saying, “I had to get comfortable with my voice. Staying in the studio and constantly recording, it helps me find the style I can be good at.”

Gucci Mane’s tribute to his former protégée highlights the impact she had on those around her. “So sad to have to say R.I.P to such a great young lady a true star we gone all miss you Chant @luvenchanting,” he wrote, capturing the sentiment of many who knew and loved her.

Enchanting’s journey in music began at 18, shortly after graduating from high school. She quickly made a name for herself with her unique style and dedication to her craft. Her hit song “He Can’t Reach” was featured on HBO’s ‘Rap Sh!t’ season 2 soundtrack, showcasing her talent to a wider audience.

Her final studio album, ‘Luv Scarred/No Luv,’ was released in February 2023, marking the end of a promising career cut tragically short. Enchanting’s legacy will live on through her music and the impact she had on those who knew her.
