Halle Bailey and DDG have finally shared the first public photos of their son, Halo, revealing his face for the first time. The Little Mermaid star, 24, and the rapper, 26, posted a series of heartwarming vacation pictures on Instagram, capturing their family moments in Italy with their 6-month-old son.
Bailey’s Instagram post on July 3rd was captioned, “halo’s first time in italy 🤍🌊,” and featured three photos of the family. In the first image, the trio is seen on a small pier above the ocean, with DDG holding Halo up in the air while Bailey holds onto their baby’s leg, all smiling brightly for the camera. The second photo shows Bailey cradling Halo with DDG standing behind them, smiling. The final photo captures Bailey posing with Halo on her hip, striking a pose for the camera.
DDG also shared his own set of photos on Instagram the same day, captioning his post, “la familia ♥️ who halo look like more? 😂.” His post included a snapshot of Halo crying, with DDG mimicking his son’s expression, a portrait of the three of them sitting and smiling together, and a solo shot of the father and son. He also shared a close-up image of Halo and a baby photo of himself, inviting followers to compare their resemblance.
Fans quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts on who Halo resembles more, with many agreeing that Halo looks like his mom. One fan commented, “THE REVEAL IS HERE😂😂😂🔥👏 FELT LIKE we was waiting for an ALBUM,” while another wrote, “He is soooooooo handsome omg 🥰🥰🥰 I already knew he was tho.”
The couple welcomed Halo in December 2023, with Bailey announcing his birth in an Instagram post on January 6, 2024. Despite speculation during her pregnancy, Bailey and DDG kept the news under wraps until the Instagram reveal. At the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards in March 2024, Bailey explained that she kept the news of Halo hidden from the public out of “a place of protection.”
“There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone,” she said. “Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that.”
In February, the couple spoke about their life as new parents with Entertainment Tonight. “It’s wonderful,” Bailey told the outlet, adding, “I love our baby so much. We’re so happy.” DDG echoed her sentiments, saying, “It’s amazing.”
Halle Bailey and DDG’s baby boy, Halo, is a spitting image of his father, and the photos prove it! For the first time, the Little Mermaid actress and the “Famous” rapper revealed pics of Halo’s face to the world. In photos that personify serious cuteness overload, little Halo is decked out in a white Dolce & Gabbana onesie with matching white shoes as the family of three look ecstatic while on vacation in Italy.
Bailey’s carousel post shows them posing on a deck with the ocean serving as their picturesque backdrop. In the launch image, the couple are smiling as they hoist Halo in the air. Not to be outdone, the proud parents are also dressed to the nines. Meanwhile, DDG’s carousel post features an up-close look at Halo. Like father like son, DDG sported a pretend-crying look on his face to mimic Halo crying during the photo shoot. The last two slides feature a photo of Halo and a baby photo of DDG.
In his caption, DDG wrote, “la familia ♥️ who halo look like more? 😂.” Fans were happy to get a look at Halo’s cute face. One fan quipped in the comments section, “THE REVEAL IS HERE😂😂😂🔥👏 FELT LIKE we was waiting for a ALBUM.” Another follower commented, “He is soooooooo handsome omg 🥰🥰🥰 I already knew he was tho.”
Bailey and DDG announced the birth of their son on January 6. The couple, who had been linked since January 2022 and confirmed their relationship two months later, had kept a low profile of their son until now. ET recently caught up with the “Angel” songstress at the 2024 BET Awards in Los Angeles, where she shared Halo’s latest milestone.
“Oh my gosh! Me and his daddy, we’re laughing as his teeth are coming out,” Bailey told ET. “He has two little teeth on the bottom poking out and I was crying when I saw that.” Motherhood has been treating Bailey well. “It’s been so beautiful,” she gushed. “I mean, I’ve never been more in love with something, someone in my life. I just look at him and I just can’t believe he’s mine, I’m just so grateful.”
Halle Bailey and DDG’s son, Halo, made his Instagram debut while the trio vacationed in Europe. “halo’s first time in italy 🤍🌊,” the “Little Mermaid” star captioned several Instagram pictures, where the family posed on a dock. The snaps showed the couple’s baby boy sporting a white long-sleeved onesie and sneakers as Bailey donned a beige strapless fishnet dress with a diamond necklace.
As DDG, he wore a white bedazzled dress shirt with black slacks. The couple were all smiles as they took turns holding their bundle of joy. DDG, 26, also shared multiple snaps from the photo shoot on his account, asking fans to weigh in on whether Halo looks like him or Bailey, 24. “halo’s first time in italy 🤍🌊,” she captioned the snaps. Halo sported a white long-sleeve onesie. Also sharing a baby picture of himself, he captioned the photo dump, “la familia ♥️ who halo look like more? 😂.”
“Halle twin 😂😂😂,” one person wrote as another agreed, “Right.” “Look like his mom,” a third wrote. Meanwhile, others were thrilled the duo finally shared photos of Halo about seven months after the singer gave birth. “FINALLY…🥰,” a fan wrote. “The reveal is hereeeeee🔥🔥🔥,” a second added as another chimed in, “😍😍 omgggg he’s soooo cuteeeee ahhhh !!!!!”
Bailey and DDG secretly welcomed Halo in December 2023. Despite stepping out in baggy clothes and a noticeable bump, the actress never publicly announced she was expecting. In January, Bailey took to Snapchat to explain that she chose to keep her pregnancy a secret because she “just wanted to make sure [she] had a beautiful, private healthy time” through her journey.
After giving birth, Bailey shared she struggled with “severe” postpartum depression. In a video posted to social media, she described the experience as “swimming in this ocean that’s [made up of] the biggest waves you’ve ever felt.” “You’re trying not to drown, and you’re trying to come up for air,” she said. “And you have those moments where you come up for air, and they feel like the most beautiful things, and it’s great. And then you have those moments where you’re drowning again,” Bailey continued.
The mom of one clarified that her struggles had “nothing to do with” Halo as she gushed over him being “perfect.” As Bailey comes clean about motherhood, she admitted to getting pregnant with her son after she and DDG took a little trip out of the country and returned with a “permanent souvenir.”
