Halle Berry and Glenn Close are set to star alongside Kim Kardashian in an upcoming Hulu legal drama from Ryan Murphy, Variety has learned.
The series, currently titled “All’s Fair,” was first announced in December 2023. It will focus on an all-female law firm in Los Angeles. Specific details about Berry and Close’s characters are being kept under wraps. Both actresses will also serve as executive producers on the series, with Close producing under her Trillium Productions banner and Berry via HalleHolly along with Holly Jeter. Kardashian will also be an executive producer.
This role marks a return to television legal dramas for Close, who famously starred in the FX series “Damages” as the notorious lawyer Patty Hewes. Close earned two of her three Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for her work on the show. She is a 14-time Emmy nominee and won her other statuette for the TV movie “Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story.” Close has also won Golden Globes for starring in the films “The Lion in Winter” and “The Wife.” In film, Close is an eight-time Oscar nominee, including nods for “The World According to Garp,” “The Big Chill,” “Dangerous Liaisons,” and “Fatal Attraction.”
Close is represented by CAA, MGMT Entertainment, and Loeb & Loeb.
This will be one of the few regular television roles Berry has had in her career. Most recently, she starred in the CBS series “Extant,” which counted Steven Spielberg among its executive producers. Berry won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in “Monster’s Ball,” making her the first woman of color to win the award. She also won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for starring in the TV movie “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.” Berry has also received Emmy nominations for “Lackawanna Blues” and “Their Eyes Were Watching God.” Her other notable film roles include the “X-Men” franchise, “Jungle Fever,” “Die Another Day,” “Things We Lost in the Fire,” and “The Call.”
Berry is represented by WME, Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole, The Lede Company, and Range Media Partners.

Jon Robin Baitz, Joe Baken, Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene, and Richard Levine also serve as writers and executive producers. As previously mentioned, Kardashian, Berry, and Close are all executive producers along with Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Jeter. 20th Television will produce in association with Ryan Murphy Television.
A Hulu drama series featuring Kim Kardashian has lined up some A-list talent to star opposite the reality TV mogul. Halle Berry and Glenn Close have joined the cast of “All’s Fair,” a legal drama from megaproducer Ryan Murphy and 20th Television. The pair will also be executive producers alongside Murphy and Kardashian.
Per usual with Murphy’s shows, details about the roles Berry and Close will play are being kept quiet for now. “All’s Fair” is described as a glossy and sexy procedural in which Kardashian plays a top divorce attorney at an all-woman L.A. law firm.
Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans), and Joe Baken (ABC’s upcoming, Murphy-produced Dr. Odyssey) created the series. They executive produce with stars Kardashian, Close, and Berry; writers Jamie Pachino, Laura Greene, and Richard Levine; and Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Holly Jeter.
“All’s Fair” will be Berry’s first series role since CBS’ “Extant” in 2015. Details on who Berry and Close will play have yet to be revealed, but we do know that they’ll also serve as executive producers alongside Kardashian. As previously reported, the Hulu series — touted as “a high-end, glossy and sexy adult procedural” — is eyeing a late 2024 production start date for an early 2025 launch. Kardashian will take on the role of Los Angeles’ most successful divorce lawyer working at an all-female law firm.
Murphy will write, direct, and executive-produce as part of his overall deal with Disney. Additional writers/EPs include Jon Robin Baitz (Bothers & Sisters, Feud: Capote Vs. Close’s TV credits include “The Shield,” “Damages,” “The New Look,” “Tehran,” and “The Simpsons” (as Mona Simpson). Berry, meanwhile, starred in the Steven Spielberg-produced sci-fi series “Extant.” She also appeared on “The Bernie Mac Show,” “Frasier,” “Martin,” “Knots Landing,” “A Different World,” and “They Came from Outer Space,” and voiced an episode of “The Simpsons.”
