**Harry Potter Star Matthew Lewis Discusses TV Reboot Appearance**
Matthew Lewis, known for his role as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series, recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming Harry Potter TV reboot. The series, announced last year and set to premiere on HBO Max in 2026, will feature an entirely new cast, but fans have been eager to see if any original actors might return.
In a conversation with People Magazine, Lewis revealed that he is “not in any rush” to return to the Wizarding World. The 34-year-old actor cited his “very short attention span” as a reason for his reluctance. “The reason I got into this job in the first place was because I have a very short attention span,” Lewis explained during an event at the Harry Potter New York store. “I am very, very poor at maintaining anything for any length of time.”
Despite his hesitations, Lewis did not completely rule out the possibility of reprising his role. He mentioned that he would be “very interested to see if it was Neville as an adult,” suggesting that a different take on the character could pique his interest.
The Harry Potter reboot aims to run for a decade, with each season based on one of J.K. Rowling’s seven books. Daniel Radcliffe, who played Harry Potter in the original films, also expressed a similar sentiment about returning. Radcliffe stated that he believes the new series should have a “clean break” from the original films and that he is content to watch the new adaptation as a fan.
The reboot has generated significant buzz, with fans and former cast members alike speculating on its potential. While Lewis and Radcliffe may not be eager to return, their openness to the idea leaves a glimmer of hope for fans wishing to see familiar faces in the new series.
