Matthew Perry, the beloved star of ‘Friends’, was found dead at the age of 54 in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home in October 2023. The cause of his death was attributed to acute effects from ketamine consumption. Recent police sources have indicated that there will be significant charges announced regarding the actor’s death, including potential homicide, at an upcoming press conference that is expected to be shocking.
According to information from Page Six, former CIA and FBI special agent Tracy Walder believes that Matthew may have been sharing prescriptions for controlled substances with friends. She stated, “He could have easily acquired drugs through friends: ‘If you give me money, I’ll give you my prescription’… there’s a whole market in that sense.”
In light of the ongoing police investigation into Matthew’s death, Walder expressed her deep sorrow, saying, “It’s incredibly sad; I feel for Matthew Perry… but the people who fed on his weakness are problematic. I would love to see some kind of felony conviction for those who supplied him with drugs, something that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.”
Marty Singer, a veteran Hollywood attorney who worked with Perry for many years and continues to manage his estate, echoed similar concerns to Page Six. He remarked, “I had dealt with Matthew shortly before he passed away; he seemed completely clean. However, I was worried when I learned about his ketamine use. Anyone involved in the inappropriate use of ketamine with Matthew should be prosecuted.”
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office revealed in December that drugs were linked to Matthew’s death. Contributing factors listed included drowning, coronary artery disease, and effects from buprenorphine. At that time, a medical expert speculated to Page Six that it was “likely” the actor had obtained ketamine illegally for recreational use.
While Matthew was undergoing ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression at the time of his death, the autopsy report noted that “the ketamine found in his system at the time of death could not have come from that infusion therapy.”
