Jang Nara and Nam Ji Hyun recently joined ELLE Korea for a pictorial and interview to discuss their upcoming drama, “Good Partner.” This office and law drama centers around star lawyer Cha Eun Kyung, played by Jang Nara, who specializes in divorce cases, and rookie lawyer Han Yu Ri, portrayed by Nam Ji Hyun, who is just starting her career in the same field.
The photo shoot aimed to capture a cheerful atmosphere and the chemistry between Jang Nara and Nam Ji Hyun, as if the two were on vacation together, away from the pressures of their legal careers. The images reflect a light-hearted and friendly dynamic, setting the tone for what viewers can expect from their on-screen partnership.
In the interview following the photo shoot, Nam Ji Hyun shared her thoughts on the script, noting that it reads well and offers a unique perspective on domestic trials such as divorce. She highlighted that unlike other legal dramas, “Good Partner” provides viewers with an opportunity to see divorce lawyers as professionals who often need to meet clients in person. This aspect adds a layer of realism and relatability to the show.
The drama is penned by Choi Yu Na, a divorce specialist lawyer known for her relatable Instagram cartoon “Marriage Red” (literal title). When asked if Choi Yu Na gave her any special tips, Jang Nara revealed that she received a lot of specific advice about the professionalism and language used by lawyers. This guidance helped her prepare for her role and bring authenticity to her character.
Jang Nara also shared a humorous anecdote about trying to follow Choi Yu Na’s Instagram before the casting news was officially announced. She noticed the description “divorce lawyer” on Choi Yu Na’s profile and, having recently gotten married herself, was worried about being misunderstood. She admitted that it was the first time she had eagerly awaited an official casting announcement to avoid any misconceptions, which drew laughter on set.
