Jason Tartick and Kat Stickler have taken their relationship to a new level by playfully addressing the comments from fans who think they look like siblings.
In a recent social media video, Stickler, 29, couldn’t contain her excitement. “You guys have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do this,” she captioned the video featuring Tartick, 35, which was posted on June 18.
In the clip, Stickler called Tartick over, saying, “Come here really quick.” Tartick, a former contestant on The Bachelorette, responded with curiosity, “What [are] you doing?”
Stickler then grabbed her boyfriend and declared, “If you want to get through him, you’re gonna have to go through me.” She sealed the moment with a kiss, adding, “Best brother ever.”
Tartick’s reaction was immediate and visceral, making a gagging noise as Stickler revealed the joke. “What the f—k is wrong with you?” he exclaimed, while the two laughed and stepped out of frame.
Adding to the humor, Stickler wore a “Favorite Daughter” shirt, a brand owned by Erin and Sara Foster. Tartick noticed this detail after the video was posted, commenting, “Wait was the ‘favorite daughter’ T shirt planned in advance too?!?”
Fans joined in on the fun, with one TikTok user commenting, “HAHAHA okay golden bc everyone is saying yall look alike,” and another adding, “No but you actually look alike.”
Stickler and Tartick went public with their relationship on June 12, sharing a photo with the caption, “Heart is full.” The couple first met when Stickler appeared on an April episode of Tartick’s “Trading Secrets” podcast. However, some speculate they knew each other long before that.
Following their Instagram debut, Tartick shared a sweet memory from their first date. “Kat was supposed to leave town and I was leaving the following day,” he recalled in a June 13 Instagram post. “She FaceTimed me when she got on the plane and said, ‘Should I get off this plane and go to you? Is that too much? I should just stay on, right? But it would be pretty romantic…I think. What do you think?’”
Stickler didn’t hesitate to get off the plane, realizing her ex-husband, Mike Stickler, had their daughter Mary Katherine (MK) that weekend.
Before the viral video, Stickler gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at their relationship launch, poking fun at the sibling jokes once more. “Do you think it would look stupid if, like, we have different photos and different captions and then … 1, 2, 3, post!” Tartick asked. Stickler suggested various captions, including, “How about, ‘Best brother ever?’”
Tartick quickly responded, “Stop with those jokes, [they’re] sick.”
PEOPLE confirmed the couple’s relationship in April, and they made it Instagram official last week. On June 18, Stickler posted her first TikTok video featuring Tartick, joining a trend where girlfriends prank their boyfriends.
In the video, Stickler called Tartick over, and he walked up to the camera, examining it. “What are you doing?” he asked. Stickler then said, “If you wanna get to him, you’re gonna have to go through me,” before giving Tartick a kiss and delivering the punchline, “Best brother ever.”
Tartick made a gagging sound and tried to walk away as Stickler wrapped her arms around him. “What the f— is wrong with you? Delete this,” he said while they both laughed.
Stickler captioned the video, “You guys have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do this,” referencing both her desire to post her boyfriend on TikTok and to join the trend.
Fans pointed out the irony, with one commenting, “HAHAHA okay golden bc everyone is saying yall look alike 😂👏🏻.”
Stickler is Tartick’s first relationship since ending his engagement to Kaitlyn Bristowe last August. Despite speculation, Tartick had stayed quiet about his new relationship for a reason. “Due to such a public breakup, even when I think about the idea of talking openly about my dating life, I get like, ‘Oh, that scares me,'” he told PEOPLE in March.
However, he described Stickler as “an amazing person, lovely, great mother [and a] hilarious content creator,” adding, “I only have incredible things to say about her.”
On June 12, the couple went Instagram official, sharing a loved-up shot with the caption, “Heart is full 🫶🏻.” On Father’s Day, Tartick shared on his Trading Secrets podcast that he had introduced Stickler to his family.
“It’s such an exciting time in my life, and I’m just beyond thankful for all the love and support,” he said on the June 17 episode. “Very, very sweet, very kind, received so many thoughtful messages, text messages, calls, and just I honestly have no other words than peace, happiness, and just grateful. Like, just very, very, very, very grateful.”
Tartick said Stickler was “meeting everyone” as he was in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his parents, brother, and brother-in-law, and she was along for the trip.
“So it’s a really, really special time, and I’m just beyond, beyond grateful for everything. And so, thank you. I feel like I’m gonna get emotional, so I’m gonna stop. But thank you.”
