Javier Poza is ready for a new professional challenge. He will be hosting the reality show "La Isla: Desafío extremo" on Telemundo, which premieres on July 30. This survival reality show has been filmed in Turkey and features a group of competitors who will give their all for a chance to win a prize of $200,000.

"Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to host various reality shows, all of which have been successful. However, this one is particularly special for me as it allows me to explore something entirely different within this format, where we at Telemundo are leaders," Javier expressed after announcing the news on his social media.

With a notable career in both journalism and hosting, Poza has also made a name for himself in radio. He previously anchored a radio show on Radio Fórmula in Mexico, but it went off the air recently due to changes at the station.

Over the years, he’s shown his versatility by presenting various talk shows, entertainment news, and reality competitions, showcasing his charisma and professionalism. "There will be a bit of everything, that’s all I can say. It’s something that hasn’t been seen before on Latin American television," he added.

In "La Isla: Desafío extremo," 24 participants will face extreme physical and mental survival challenges in the wild landscapes of Turkey. They will compete for the coveted $200,000 prize, forming three teams: ‘Los Águilas’, ‘Los Tiburones’, and ‘Las Panteras’. Each week, teams will compete in a territory battle that determines their living conditions for the week, whether it’s the comfortable Playa Alta, the minimally equipped Playa Media, or the basic Playa Baja.

Participants include Natalia Alcocer, Chuy Almada, Sebastián Caicedo, Julia Gama, Valeria Guajardo, Samira Jalil, Aylín Mújica, and many others. Joining them are previously announced contestants Gisella Aboumrad, Carmen Aub, Carlos Caquias, Guty Carrera, Angélica Celaya, Adrián Di Monte, Cristina Eustace, Regina Fernández, Tony Garza, Julián Gil, Awilda Herrera, Sergio Mayer, and Hubert Ria.
