Jay Cutler has officially sold the Tennessee home he once shared with ex-wife Kristin Cavallari. The former NFL quarterback’s sprawling estate was sold for $7.9 million in an all-cash transaction, as reported by TMZ. This sale marks a significant financial loss for Cutler, who initially listed the property for $11 million earlier this year.
The impressive residence boasts seven bedrooms and ten bathrooms, covering an expansive 10,697 square feet. Nestled on over 45 acres of land, the property features a gym, sauna, and a newly added pool house, making it a luxurious retreat. Cutler and Cavallari purchased the home in 2018 for $4.23 million, later expanding the estate by acquiring an additional 35 acres for $1.2 million.
The home gained notoriety as it was prominently featured in the couple’s E! reality series “Very Cavallari,” which aired from 2018 to 2020. Following their divorce, the house was awarded to Cutler as part of the settlement, and it has served as his primary residence since then.
The divorce between Cutler and Cavallari was marked by tension and disputes over finances. Cavallari accused Cutler of withholding funds to prevent her from purchasing a new home, while Cutler contended that their existing properties made such a purchase unnecessary. The couple, who married in 2013, filed for divorce in 2020, finalizing the process in June 2022.
Real estate agents Tim Thompson of Tim Thompson Premier Realtors and Marty Warren of Zeitlin Sotheby’s International Realty managed the listing of the property. Despite the loss incurred from the sale, Cutler still made a profit compared to the original purchase price.
The home itself is a stunning example of luxury living, featuring hardwood floors, rough-hewn ceiling beams, and traditional molding throughout. The open-plan living spaces include a grand entrance hall illuminated by a crystal chandelier, leading to a spacious living room anchored by a stone fireplace. A music room off the hall showcases a baby grand piano, adding to the home’s charm.
The kitchen is equipped with modern amenities, including two center islands, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast nook. The master suite offers a serene retreat with a freestanding copper soaking tub and a fully tiled multi-head shower. The property also includes a dressing room with mirrored wardrobes and a unique rope swing.
Cutler and Cavallari’s relationship began in 2010 when they were introduced at a Chicago Bears preseason game. They dated for a year before getting engaged, calling off the engagement, and then reuniting. They eventually tied the knot in June 2013, welcoming three children together: sons Camden and Jaxon, and daughter Saylor.
As Cutler moves on from the Tennessee home, Cavallari has been enjoying a getaway in Greece with her new boyfriend, Mark Estes. The couple has been spotted together, enjoying their time away while Cutler navigates this new chapter in his life.
The sale of the Tennessee home signifies a fresh start for Cutler, allowing him to close the book on a significant chapter of his life. While the financial loss may sting, the sale represents a step forward in moving on from the past and embracing new opportunities.
