Joe Manganiello is in the best shape of his life at 47 years old.

Joe Manganiello is in the best shape of his life at the age of 47. The actor, known for his role in True Blood, shared that last year he achieved personal records in weightlifting and continues to strengthen his body. He emphasizes that age is merely a number.

In an interview with Men’s Journal, Joe expressed his surprise at his accomplishments. "I didn’t expect to do this. It was like, ‘Wow, I’m doing this.’ It was the biggest of my life. All the time I hear people complain, ‘Well, I’m 37, it’s over.’ I say, ‘Man, I’m 47. I can do anything better than ever.’"

He attributed his weightlifting success and impressive physique to hard work with his trainer, Ron Mathews, and to hiring a nutritionist who previously worked for NASA. Joe explained the process: "They take 10 vials of blood, and three weeks later, you get 26 pages of results. It tells you exactly what you should eat, what I’m designed to eat."

Investing in himself has always been a priority for Joe, even from the beginning of his Hollywood career. He mentioned, "In my first year on True Blood, I lived off my savings. I didn’t get paid much in the first season, and I invested everything in my trainer and a publicist. I couldn’t afford the trainer for Hugh Jackman, right? But I made it happen."

Joe’s dedication to maintaining his physical health is so intense that he even raised the ceilings of his home gym to maximize his workouts. He shared with Men’s Health, "When we moved in, I met with the contractors to find out how much space I had to raise or lower. It turned out I could go up by 30 cm. Just enough to do a solid bench press. You can squat, lower the weights… you can do whatever you want."
