Johnny Depp and Will Smith have embarked on a “bromance.” The stars, with Depp being 61 and Smith at 55, are fans of each other and both share a deep passion for music and outdoor concerts.
A source revealed to People that this Hollywood friendship spans “years.” Their bond grew stronger after they shared a stage at the Teatro del Silenzio, performing alongside Andrea Bocelli following a yacht outing together in Italy.
According to the insider, “Johnny and Will have known each other for years and are big fans of one another. They both maintain busy travel schedules, with Depp spending much of his time in the UK. They happened to be in southern France at the same time and share a love for music beyond their acting careers.”
Recently, the two enjoyed some leisure time together during their European trip on a yacht, accompanied by Egyptian singer Ahmed Saad. Saad posted a photo with the two movie stars, expressing his happiness about the reunion, thanking them for the lovely visit with the caption: “Great feeling to meet friends. Thank you, my friends, for the lovely visit @johnnydepp @willsmith @ismailmansour1 #AhmedSaad #johnnydepp #willsmith.”
A source further shared with People that Johnny and Will were “on their way to Andrea Bocelli’s concert, where both were set to perform” when the photo was taken.
Last year, the duo also shared the spotlight at the opening night of the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, where they were seen hugging and chatting amicably.
This week, Johnny and Will joined other stars for Andrea Bocelli’s performances at the Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico, Italy. Will contributed by delivering a spoken-word rendition of the classic 1940s song “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” supported by piano. Meanwhile, Johnny lent his guitar skills to accompany Andrea, 65, during the performance of “En Aranjuez con tu amor.”
