This morning’s episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark” brought a heartwarming surprise for co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. The married duo, who first met on the set of the iconic soap opera “All My Children,” were reunited with their on-screen baby, Enzo.
Olivia Daddona, who played Baby Enzo, was present in the audience for Monday’s show. Ripa, addressing the audience, shared that she and Consuelos had often wondered about Baby Enzo’s whereabouts. “We’ve often wondered, what ever happened to Baby Enzo? And Baby Enzo is in our audience today,” Ripa announced with excitement.
In an August 2001 episode of “All My Children,” Ripa’s character, Hayley Vaughan Santos, and Consuelos’ character, Mateo, welcomed a baby boy named Lorenzo, affectionately called Enzo. Daddona, who portrayed Enzo, explained that she was chosen over her twin brother for the role because he “didn’t have enough hair” at the time. She also revealed that she is just three days younger than Ripa and Consuelos’ real-life daughter, Lola. Daddona’s mother would hold Lola off-camera while Ripa held her on set.
Ripa inquired if Daddona was still pursuing acting, to which she humorously replied, “No, this is my big break now, I guess!” The audience shared a laugh, and Ripa agreed, saying, “Yes! We discover people here.”
The reunion was a nostalgic moment for Ripa and Consuelos, who have been co-hosting “Live with Kelly and Mark” since early 2023. The couple, who have been married since 1996, first met on the set of “All My Children” in the ’90s. Their characters, Hayley and Mateo, had a son named Lorenzo in an episode that aired in August 2001.
During the show, the camera panned to Daddona, who held up a photo of herself as a baby with Ripa on the set of the soap opera. She shared that her twin brother, who didn’t have enough hair at the time, is now “a little jealous” of her claim to fame. Consuelos humorously asked about her brother’s hair now, to which she replied, “Oh, he has a lot of hair now. He’s good now.”
Ripa and Consuelos, who share three children in real life—Michael, Lola, and Joaquin—were delighted to see Daddona. The young woman revealed that she is now 23 years old and works in sports. “I’m happy to be here, it’s good to reunite,” she said.
The reunion was a touching moment for the couple, who have been co-hosting the talk show for over a year. Initially, they were hesitant about co-hosting together, but they have since embraced the opportunity. “No, this is insane. We can’t do this,” Consuelos recalled saying on Ripa’s podcast, “Let’s Talk Off Camera.”
“Live with Kelly and Mark” continues to air weekdays, bringing joy and surprises to its audience. The reunion with Baby Enzo was a special moment that highlighted the couple’s enduring connection to their soap opera roots and their journey together as co-hosts and partners.
