Kris Jenner tearfully reveals she’s had both ovaries removed in latest episode

Kris Jenner broke down in tears on the latest episode of “The Kardashians” when she revealed she has to undergo surgery to have her ovaries removed. On Season Five, Episode Seven, Kris, 68, broke the news to daughters Kendall Jenner, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, as well as partner Corey Gamble, at the end of their family trip to Aspen, Colorado.

“I wanted to tell you guys something because I hadn’t told you yet,” she said while tearing up. “But I went to the doctor and I had my scan. They found — and this just makes me really emotional — but they found a cyst and like a little tumor on my ovary. So I went to the doctor and Dr. A said I have to have my ovaries taken out. And I’m just really emotional about it because they came in handy with you guys.”

In a confessional, Kim said she feels “really sad” for her mother. “To have a surgery and remove your ovaries is like a really big deal,” she said. “I feel really sad for her. I couldn’t even imagine being in that situation and how you would feel really scared to be going through that.”

Kourtney Kardashian, who later joined on FaceTime, agreed. The mom of four, who recently welcomed her baby boy Rocky with husband Travis Barker, said in her confessional she understood how her mom was feeling. Adding, “I would feel the same way. It’s like your womanly power. And it doesn’t mean that it’s like taking away who she is or what she’s experienced, but I would feel like this sentimental feeling of what it’s created.”

Kris continued to get emotional, reflecting on getting older and how it’s “a sign of, we’re done with this part of your life. It’s a whole chapter that’s just closed.”

As for Kendall, who doesn’t have any kids, she said she only wants what’s best for her mother. “I get her emotion behind it. I get that it’s sad because they (her ovaries) have brought all her kids into the world, which is totally fair. But at the same time, what are we going to use those for anymore? If they’re potentially hurting you, let’s get them out of there,” she said.

To cheer Kris up, Kim jokingly suggested that they have a “farewell ovaries party” and the momager felt even better once Corey brought out a gift he bought for her. “I have something to help your energy,” he said while getting a shopping bag. “I bought you a gift. I don’t want you to be sad.”

“It fits perfect,” Kris said while trying on her new coat that Corey gifted her. “I’m not sad anymore,” she said with a smile. “It’s amazing how new clothes fix everything.”

Kris Jenner is finally coming clean about the medical struggle she’s been teasing for weeks on The Kardashians. On this week’s episode, titled “The Peak and The Pit,” the 68-year-old momager is still on her family trip to Aspen, Colorado, with her daughters Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner when she decides to share big news.

And while she keeps her news under wraps for the entirety of the trip, Kris decides to open up to her kids as they recap their child-free getaway. “I wanted to tell you guys something because I hadn’t told you,” Kris said. “I went to the doctor, and I had my scan. They found — and this just makes me really emotional but — they found a cyst and, like, a little tumor on my ovary.”

The mother of six shares that she has to have her ovaries removed, saying the idea of it made her “really emotional.” In a confessional interview, Kris goes on to explain, “I’m emotional about it because that’s where all my kids were conceived and that’s where they were grown, in my tummy and so, this [is a] very sacred place to me.”

Noting that she’s not emotional about the actual surgical procedure or nervous about her care, Kris explains that the idea of having her ovaries gone is upsetting to her. “It’s also a thing of getting older, and it’s a sign that we’re done with this part of your life. It’s a whole chapter that’s closed,” Kris notes as her kids look concerned.

Kim calls the surgery a “really big deal,” saying that she feels “really sad” for her mom. Kourtney Kardashian, who FaceTimes into the conversation, later expresses in her confessional interview, “I totally understand how my mom is feeling because I would feel the same way. It’s like your womanly power. And it doesn’t mean that it’s taking away who she is or what she’s experienced, but I would feel this sentimental thing of what it’s created.”

Kendall, the only one of Kris’ children not to have kids so far, seems less sentimental about the procedure. “I get her emotion behind it. I get that it’s sad because they have brought all her kids into the world, which is totally fair. But at the same time, what are we going to use those for?” the supermodel muses. “If they’re potentially hurting you, let’s get them out of there.”

The sisters propose a “farewell ovaries party,” but Kris’ longtime boyfriend, Corey Gamble, has another idea. “You’re gonna cry at least 15 more times, so I just want you to have a gift,” he tells Kris, before handing her a bag with a large black Prada coat that she loves.

Kris is also mom to Rob Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, and in total she has 13 grandchildren. Back in May, she told James Corden that she would never retire during an appearance on SiriusXM’s This Life of Mine with James Corden. “My mom retired when she was 82 and she talks about her job every single day when we’re together and she will say to me, ‘Oh, my job kept me young and with purpose and with joy,'” she said.

New episodes of The Kardashians stream Thursdays on Hulu.

Kris Jenner has revealed she will be getting her ovaries ‘taken out’, after doctors discovered ‘a cyst and a tumor’. The 68-year-old has been very vocal about her health issues in the last few years, with cameras following her through her recent hip replacement, as well as doctors’ appointments. In the latest episode of the Kardashians, she became emotional as she opened up to her family about the prospect of getting her ovaries removed for good.

‘I wanted to tell you guys something because I hadn’t told you yet, but I went to the doctor and I had my scan,’ the momager told daughters Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, and Kendall Jenner. ‘They found a cyst and a little tumor on my ovary, and so I went to the doctor and Dr A [Dr Thaïs Aliabadi] said I’ve got to have my ovaries taken out. I’m just really emotional about it because they came in handy with you guys.’

Kris teared up as she shared her heartbreak over a huge chapter of her life now being ‘gone’, but didn’t go into further detail about the upcoming operation. ‘It’s also a thing about getting older and it’s a sign we’re done with this part of life,’ she cried. ‘It’s a whole chapter that has just closed. It’s so silly.’

Addressing the ovary removal – known as an oophorectomy – during an on-camera interview, the businesswoman added: ‘I’m emotional about it because that’s where all my kids were conceived and that’s where they were grown, in my tummy. It’s a very sacred place for me. People often ask me what’s the best job I’ve ever had, and I’ve always said mom. The biggest blessing in my life was being able to give birth to six beautiful kids.’

The preview for next week’s episode also saw the family rallying around the matriarch as she prepared for her operation. Kris’ latest health scare comes two years after she last went under the knife for a hip replacement, as a result of ‘excruciating pain’. However, she also got emotional at the thought of needing the surgery as it represented her body getting older.

‘The pain that I’ve been feeling seems to be getting in the way of my life and that is not something that I can really tolerate or have the patience for,’ she said in a 2022 episode of the Hulu series. ‘I have this beautiful fabulous life and I have so many kids and grandkids that I want to share it with. All I want to do is fix the problem and move on so I can live the best, longest life possible. You just realize you don’t have that much more time. Suddenly, I can’t do all the things… My hip goes out, my knee is torn. I have an eye infection, I can’t see. I have the TV up too loud and Corey says I can’t hear. It’s like I feel like Humpty Dumpty.’

The Kardashians airs on Hulu in the US and Disney+ in the UK.
