Lana Del Rey found herself in a tense situation in Paris on Friday when she noticed people trailing her around the city.
The “Summertime Sadness” singer was captured in a viral video stepping out of a store, visibly startled by someone recording her.
“Don’t,” she exclaimed, attempting to grab the phone from the individual’s hand. It’s unclear if the person was a fan or a paparazzo.
Del Rey, 38, then became more agitated in another video, confronting a larger group and saying, “You followed me with my family! … Get away from me!”
She began to walk away but returned to assert, “Oh, you really think this is uncalled for? Don’t follow me! Don’t follow me!”
When someone in the group tried to calm her down, Del Rey snapped, “I am upset” and reiterated, “Don’t let them follow me.”
Del Rey explained that she wanted a few hours to herself on her day off, saying, “I only have one day here. I work every single day. I have four hours to myself.”
When a man in the group told her not to scream, she shouted even louder, “Shut up!”
After the videos surfaced online, Del Rey vented on Instagram, “These a**holes actually told me that they were going to alter the pictures to make me look bad after we got into a fight.”
She also labeled the group as “stalkers.”
Fans quickly rallied behind Del Rey, expressing their support on social media.
“Poor Lana 🙁 I’m so happy she stood up for herself,” one person commented.
“They need to stop harassing her,” another added.
By Friday night, Del Rey seemed to have moved past the incident, performing at the Primavera Sound Porto festival in Portugal.
In a video shared by TMZ, Del Rey confronted the group, with one person shouting, “You came to me.” Lana angrily replied, “You followed me with my family!”
“Get away from me!” she shouted. “Don’t follow me!”
Someone then appeared to acknowledge her frustration. “I am upset!” Lana responded. “Don’t let them follow me. I only have one day here. I work every single day. I have four hours to myself.”
When someone off-camera told her not to scream, Lana retorted, “Shut up! Don’t follow people!”
Del Rey also reacted to the video online, calling the group “stalkers” and alleging, “These assholes actually told me that they were going to alter the pictures to make me look bad after we got into a fight.”
Most people supported how Lana handled the situation.
One Reddit user said, “This is valid! She wanted to spend time with her family, but she was being followed around, which was invading her privacy. Celebrities are entitled to personal space just like anyone else, but people often forget that celebrities are human too.”
“I would rage. I feel her,” another said. “Poor Lana just wanted to enjoy a day in Paris 😔,” wrote a third.
Someone else commented, “I read the title and was on her side before I even opened this post.”
While a fifth viewer said, “Honestly good for her.”
Lana Del Rey has spoken out following her “fight” with “stalkers” in Paris.
The singer was recently spotted having a heated exchange in the French capital, where she claimed someone was “following” her and her family. It is unknown whether the person following Del Rey was a photographer or a fan.
TMZ published a video of the singer responding to the person after they claimed Del Rey “came to me,” to which she said, “You followed me! With my family! Get away from me. Don’t follow me! Don’t follow me!”
When the person told her they didn’t understand why she was upset, Del Rey replied, “I am upset! Don’t let them follow me. I only have one day here. I work every single day. I have four hours to myself.” After the person told Del Rey not to “scream,” Del Rey answered, “Shut up! Don’t follow people.”
Del Rey has since commented underneath a video of the incident, branding them as “stalkers” and writing, “These assholes actually told me that they were going to alter the pictures to make me look bad after we got into the fight.”
Even halfway across the world, it looks like celebs still get relentlessly hounded. We’ve reached out to Lana’s team, but so far, no word back.
