Lindsay Lohan recently shared that returning to the set of Freaky Friday 2 made her feel "like a child again." The 38-year-old former child star reunited with her on-screen mother, Jamie Lee Curtis, who is 65, for the much-anticipated sequel to the beloved 2003 film. Both actresses are reprising their roles as Anna and Tess Coleman, and the experience has filled Lindsay with nostalgia for her Disney days, as well as excitement to reconnect with her co-stars.
In an interview on Nightline, Lindsay reflected on her experience at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. She remarked, "Jamie and I have stayed in touch over the years. You know what they say about having a best friend or someone you’re really close to? If you don’t see them for years, when you finally do, it feels like you’ve never been apart."
Lindsay continued, expressing her deep emotional connection to the studio: "I think I felt that when I returned to the Disney set. Because for me, Freaky Friday isn’t just that movie; it’s The Parent Trap, it’s Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, it’s Herbie. There are so many cherished moments. So when I arrived there, I felt like a little girl again."
She also conveyed her gratitude, saying she feels "very thankful for every moment, for every second" she spent with the company. Given that production for the sequel began just a few days ago, it’s evident that her emotions are running high.
The film’s script is penned by Jordan Weiss and directed by Nisha Ganatra. In this second installment, Anna, Lindsay’s character, has matured and now faces the challenges of motherhood, including dealing with a stepson of her own.
