Luis Fonsi was the only Latin artist invited to the lavish wedding of billionaires Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, both aged 29, held this weekend at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra, Mumbai, India.
The Puerto Rican singer attended the ceremony, which reportedly cost around $250 million, alongside his wife Águeda López. He entertained guests by performing his hit song ‘Despacito’ twice, getting everyone up and dancing.
Fonsi shared some photos from the pre-wedding festivities at Antilia, the residence of business tycoon Viren Merchant, who is the father of the bride. Accompanying the images, Fonsi wrote, “Music brings together cultures, languages, countries, and hearts. India danced with us tonight #AmbaniWedding.”
He also showcased his outfits for the occasion to his 15 million followers. One was a black suit with brown details designed by Manish Malhotra, while the other was a striking white ensemble by Anamika Khanna. In contrast, his wife chose to wear a traditional white dress.
Other notable attendees at the event, which can host 16,000 people, included Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Elon Musk, David Beckham, John Cena, Mark Zuckerberg, Ivanka Trump, and former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, among many others.
The celebrations leading up to the wedding featured a three-day party in Gujarat for 1,500 guests last March, a Mediterranean cruise for 1,200 guests, a specially built Hindu temple, and private performances by stars like Rihanna, the Backstreet Boys, and Justin Bieber.
Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, who is the richest man in Asia and chairman of Reliance Industries, is set to inherit a portion of the family fortune, estimated at a staggering $126 billion.
