Michael Douglas Walks Red Carpet With His Kids and Catherine Zeta-Jones

Michael Douglas is proving that the red carpet is a family affair. On Tuesday, the 78-year-old actor walked the red carpet at the 76th Annual Cannes Film Festival arm in arm with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, and daughter Carys, 20. The three were attending the screening of “Jeanne du Barry” and the opening ceremony red carpet.

Douglas looked dapper in a black suit and black bowtie, with a white pocket square in his lapel. Zeta-Jones wore a low-cut red dress and was joined by daughter Carys, who wore a semi-see-through white gown. The Ant-Man star and wife Zeta-Jones have been married for 23 years and share daughter Carys, as well as son Dylan, 22. Douglas also shares son Cameron, 44, with his ex-wife Diandra Luker.

In April, Douglas and Zeta-Jones celebrated Carys’ 20th birthday by posting heartfelt tributes on social media. “20 years ago today my daughter Carys came into my arms and there is not a day I haven’t cherished,” Zeta-Jones captioned an Instagram post. “Happy birthday beautiful lady🎂♥️🎂.” Douglas also took to Instagram to wish his daughter a happy birthday. “To my darling Carys, wishing you a happy birthday! Now that you are leaving your teens, may this be a wonderful New Year for you darling! I love you, Dad,” he captioned his post.

Throughout the years, Douglas’ children have made appearances at several red carpet events and movie premieres. His oldest child, Cameron, even joined Douglas on screen in a few projects. In December, Zeta-Jones told PEOPLE that her family life has just been getting better and better. “Both my daughter and Dylan have been so incredibly supportive to me, not just as an actor, but just me, you know. I’m extremely blessed to be able to have both of them in my life.”

The 76th annual Cannes Film Festival has kicked off in France. Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Carys Douglas walked the Cannes red carpet. The trio were all smiles as they posed for photographers during the red carpet opening ceremony for the screening of the festival’s opening film, “Jeanne du Barry.” Zeta-Jones wore a red gown with a cape and Carys Douglas opted for a white gown with matching earrings, while Michael Douglas wore a classic suit. In one image, Zeta-Jones and her daughter were photographed kissing Michael Douglas.

The star-studded event was also attended by Uma Thurman, Elle Fanning, Brie Larson, “Jeanne du Barry” actor Johnny Depp, and more. The Cannes Film Festival will continue through May 27, 2023.

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ daughter, Carys Zeta Douglas, looked just like her mom as she reached into the actress’ fashion archives for her 21st birthday. Carys shared a series of photos celebrating the milestone, sporting a glamorous Ungaro pink slip dress with lace accents and roses designed on the top. She added minimal jewelry and strappy heels to accessorize the statement gown, and she styled her hair in loose curly locks.

Zeta-Jones originally wore the pink dress while walking the red carpet at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards when she was nominated for, and later won, the award for best breakthrough performance for her role in “The Mask of Zorro.” The Oscar winner, 54, looked remarkably similar to her daughter with their matching hairstyle and silver strappy heels. Carys smiled while posing for photos in the dress and even included one of a boy kissing her on the cheek while she held a flower.

“The most perfect 21st I could ask for! 🌸,” she captioned the carousel of photos. The “Chicago” actress gave her stamp of approval for the look by commenting under her daughter’s post, “You deserve it sweetheart ❤️.” Catherine also shared a separate Instagram post that included a few pictures from when her daughter was younger. “Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter @carys.douglas. You are the joy of my life. 21 years of watching you blossom into the most incredible woman you are today is a God-given gift that I never take for granted and cherish every day of my life. Thank you for being you. I love you with all my heart ♥️ Mama,” she wrote.

Carys has been in the fashion world since she was a teenager, when she made her magazine cover debut posing alongside her mom for Town & Country in 2018. “Fashion has been so important in my life, because my mom is like a fashion icon to me,” she told the outlet at the time. “I’m always looking through her closet.” Since then, the mother-daughter duo have graced the cover of Vanity Fair, starred in a Fendi campaign together, and attended several New York Fashion Week shows. Most recently, Carys wore a semi-sheer Elie Saab lace gown while walking the Cannes Film Festival red carpet with her mom and dad in May 2023.

Michael Douglas had his main ladies by his side at the Cannes Film Festival. The 78-year-old actor was joined by wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and daughter Carys Zeta Douglas at the 76th edition of the festival in Cannes, France, on May 16. The family attended the opening ceremony and the screening of the film “Jeanne du Barry.” During the kickoff, Douglas was also honored with the honorary Palme d’Or. The family posed for photographers on the opening ceremony of the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Douglas looked dapper in a black tuxedo with a white dress shirt. His 20-year-old daughter, styled by Kelly Johnson, looked lovely in a white embellished gown by Elie Saab, Sarah Flint shoes, and Chopard jewelry. The “Wednesday” actor, on her end, exuded elegance also in an Elie Saab red and burgundy dress from the spring-summer couture collection. She paired the flowy gown with Sarah Flint heels and Chopard jewelry, just like her daughter. During their time on the red carpet, the family posed for multiple photos and even took one with Douglas Zeta and Zeta-Jones giving the family patriarch a kiss on the cheek.

In a video shared by ET Canada from inside the event, Uma Thurman presented Douglas with the Palme d’Or. The award is given to exceptional individuals who have made a profound and lasting impact on cinema. “I could not think of a more deserving person of this than Michael Douglas,” Thurman said before the actor walked onstage and accepted his trophy. The “Basic Instinct” star then expressed how much the award means to him, as well as gave his wife and daughter a sweet shoutout. “I want to thank all of the filmmakers that I’ve worked with over the years, all of the film crews, the hundreds and hundreds of people that did such a great job in their departments, and all of the joy and happiness that we had working together,” he said. “And also want to say hello to my wife and to thank her and my daughter, Carys, who are with us tonight, to thank you for your love, your support.”

Douglas and Zeta-Jones are also parents to 22-year-old son Dylan. Douglas also shares son Cameron Douglas with ex-wife Diandra Luker.
