Millie Bobby Brown marries Jake Bongiovi Jon Bon Jovi

Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi has confirmed that his son, Jake Bongiovi, has married “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown. Speaking to the BBC’s “The One Show,” Bon Jovi shared the joyous news, putting an end to the swirling speculation about the couple’s marital status. “They are great, they are absolutely fantastic,” Bon Jovi said, adding that the wedding was a small, intimate family affair. “The bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. It’s true.”

Millie Bobby Brown, 20, who gained fame for her role as Eleven in the Netflix sci-fi series “Stranger Things,” has also appeared in two “Godzilla” films. The couple announced their engagement in April 2023, with Brown sharing a heartfelt photo on Instagram. In the picture, she is seen wearing an engagement ring while being embraced by Jake Bongiovi, 22. She captioned the post with a lyric from Taylor Swift’s song “Lover”: “I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all.”

Although the couple has yet to confirm the wedding themselves, Brown has previously expressed her excitement about planning the big day. In an interview with Elle UK earlier this year, she described the wedding planning process as an “unbelievable journey.” She mentioned that she and Jake take a picture at every wedding meeting to capture the moment. “He’s loving every second of it. I haven’t been met with a stressful time yet, and I think that’s just a reflection on how ready and excited we are to do it,” she said.

Adding a unique touch to their wedding, “Stranger Things” co-star Matthew Modine, who plays Dr. Martin Brenner, revealed that he would officiate the ceremony. Modine, who has a license to marry people, said that both Brown and Bongiovi thought it would be a great idea. “I have one of those licenses to get people married, and Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea,” Modine shared. In February, Brown shared a romantic story on “The Tonight Show” about how Bongiovi proposed to her underwater while they were on holiday. “He gives me a shell and I turn it over, and it’s a ring,” she recalled. Although the ring initially fell off her finger and plummeted to the ocean floor, Bongiovi managed to retrieve it and properly proposed with a ring that belonged to Brown’s mother.

Jon Bon Jovi, who has been supportive of the couple from the beginning, shared his thoughts on young love during an appearance on the “Andy Cohen Live” show in May 2023. “Millie’s wonderful. Her whole family are great,” Bon Jovi said. “Jake is very, very happy.” When asked if he had any concerns about his son getting married in his early 20s, Bon Jovi said, “I don’t know if age matters if you find the right partner and you grow together. That would be my advice: Growing together is wise. So I think all my kids have found people that they think they can grow together with, and we like them all.”

His family are wonderful people who welcomed me with open arms. I’m really grateful to be a part of their world.”
