Miranda Lambert Bids Farewell to What No Longer Serves Her
Miranda Lambert recently shared a cryptic message on social media, hinting at a significant change in her life. The country singer, 40, took to TikTok on July 10 to post a photo of herself standing in front of a tour bus, waving goodbye at the camera. Over the image, she wrote, “This is your sign to…” followed by another slide that read, “…say goodbye to anything that isn’t serving you anymore.” In the caption, she added, “Sometimes the grass is actually greener on the other side,” and set the video to her new song “Dammit Randy,” co-written by her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.
This message comes just weeks after a video surfaced showing McLoughlin dancing with other women at Lambert’s Casa Rosa bar in Nashville. The footage, which circulated on TikTok on June 24, showed the former New York City police officer dancing closely with a brunette woman in a denim dress. The same woman was later seen grinding on him. The mystery woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told In Touch on June 26 that the encounter was completely “innocent.”
“Earlier in the night, we noticed him in the roped-off section at the front of the bar. We recognized him, and we all thought it was cool that he was there, and mentioned hoping for a Miranda appearance,” she said. “We went back to enjoying our night, drinking and dancing with each other and just having a good time.”
The woman explained that she and her friends ended up near the roped-off section and asked McLoughlin if he would take a picture with the bride-to-be. “He said of course, and we thanked him,” she continued. “Somehow, later, we were let into the roped-off section where he was. I’m not sure how that was initiated or happened. We were all dancing together and laughing and talking, thanking him for helping to make our bride-to-be’s night so special and fun. He was gracious and polite and kind. He did a lot of laughing at us, because we are a silly bunch and were having a good time just dancing and being goofy together.”
The woman insisted that “there was never anything inappropriate said” between anyone and “there was no vibe whatsoever of anything other than friendly, innocent dancing and talking.” She added, “He was not flirty. The bar was extremely loud, and even yelling in each other’s ear, it was hard to hear anything. He left about an hour, maybe an hour and a half, before we left. Truly, none of us ever felt that there was any flirting happening. It was just dancing, laughing, and talking. He was friendly and casual, but never inappropriate or suggestive in any way.”
Regarding the video footage of her and McLoughlin, which also showed her putting her hands on his face, she said she wasn’t “sure why” she did that. “I just have a tendency to do that at times without even realizing,” she explained. “It’s a silly, unconscious habit that I have, and I am responsible for how that may have appeared to the outside world. I never intended it suggestively, probably more ‘motherly,’ as that’s who I am, but that isn’t something that should reflect badly on him at all.”
The bargoer concluded that she and her friends were “grateful” for McLoughlin’s kindness that night. “It’s sad that he and Miranda are dealing with all of this for no reason,” she said.
Though Lambert, who married McLoughlin in January 2019 after two months together, has yet to publicly comment on the scandal, a source exclusively told In Touch on June 26 that he has likely “gotten an earful” from her in private. “There’s absolutely no way that Miranda is staying quiet about Brendan’s flirty videos that are circulating on social media,” the insider said. “She loves Brendan and takes their marriage seriously, so I know she’s upset [about] this.”
In another emotional post, Lambert shared the sad news of having to say goodbye to her beloved dog, Thelma, after eight years together. She adopted Thelma and another Great Pyrenees named Louise in 2016 to watch over her farm outside of Nashville. “May 1, 2016, I adopted 2 beautiful Great Pyrenees named Thelma and Louise to watch over one of my happiest places on earth. My farm outside of Nashville. The Kitties, chickens, and mini horses needed to be looked after and these 2 girls have done that since the day we brought them home,” she wrote.
Lambert shared her sadness over losing Thelma, along with some happy memories and sweet photos. “Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our sweet Thelma. She spent her days lounging in the barn and her nights keeping watch over all of us. She lived the last 8 years with no fences, just freedom to do what she did best. Love and protect. I loved her with all my heart. Louise has retired from her farm duties and is getting all the more love and snuggles from Delta, Bellamy, Cher, Brendan, and me. It hurts so bad to say goodbye to these sweet companions but their love is always worth it. How lucky are we to get to have friends like Thelma. I am so proud to have been part of her story.”
Lambert also thanked her farm managers, Julia and Tommy, for taking such good care of Thelma over the years. “Thank you to my friends and farm managers Julia and Tommy for taking such good care of her and every one of my fur babies and loving them like they are your own. We all miss you Telm Telm. Y’all don’t forget, love a shelter pet,” she added.
As Lambert navigates these personal challenges, her message of saying goodbye to what no longer serves her resonates deeply with her fans. Whether it’s dealing with public scrutiny over her husband’s actions or the loss of a beloved pet, Lambert’s strength and resilience continue to inspire.
