Noah Schnapp, the 19-year-old star of “Stranger Things,” found himself in hot water early Saturday morning after being ejected from a New York City nightclub. According to an exclusive source, Schnapp was partying at The Palace when things took a turn for the worse.
Eyewitnesses reported that Schnapp was enjoying his night out with friends and was seen encouraging other patrons to join him for tequila shots. However, his attempts were met with resistance, as many clubgoers declined due to his underage status. This refusal reportedly made Schnapp angry.
As the night progressed, Schnapp’s behavior allegedly became more erratic. He was described as “aggressively wasted,” prompting the club’s security to intervene. Around 1:30 a.m. ET, Schnapp was escorted out of the venue. Once outside, he was seen struggling to stand and eventually left the area around 2 a.m. ET.
Despite the incident, Schnapp has not posted any updates or highlights from his night out on social media. However, Page Six obtained footage showing the seemingly intoxicated actor sitting on a couch with his arm around a friend. In another clip, he is seen helping a friend sit down while a woman danced nearby.
Attempts to reach representatives for Schnapp and The Palace for comments were unsuccessful.
This isn’t the first time Schnapp has found himself at the center of controversy. In 2020, he faced backlash for allegedly using the N-word while singing along to “Freaky Friday” in a resurfaced video from 2019, a claim he denied. In 2022, he was criticized by singer Doja Cat for sharing private messages in which she asked him to set her up with his co-star Joseph Quinn.
Doja Cat expressed her disappointment in an Instagram Live video, stating, “Maybe he is, like a whole snake. But I didn’t see him that way. I made an assumption that he was gonna be chill about it and he went and shared information that I didn’t feel comfortable with him sharing.”
Last year, Schnapp also faced significant scrutiny for his vocal support of Israel during the Israel-Hamas conflict. He shared a video of himself laughing with people displaying stickers that read “Zionism Is Sexy” and “Hamas Is Isis.” His stance led to calls for his removal from “Stranger Things” and threats to boycott the show’s final season.
In January, Schnapp addressed the controversy in a now-deleted TikTok video, claiming that his “beliefs have been so far misconstrued.” He stated, “I’ve had many open discussions with friends from Palestinian backgrounds, and I think those are very important conversations to have and I’ve learned a lot.”
Schnapp emphasized that his discussions have taught him the importance of seeking peace for both Palestinians and Israelis. He added, “We all hope for the same things, that being those innocent people still being held hostage in Gaza to be returned to their families, and equally hope for an end to the loss of innocent life in Palestine — so many of those people being women and children, and it’s horrible to see.”
As Schnapp continues to navigate his career and public image, this latest incident at The Palace serves as a reminder of the challenges young celebrities face in the spotlight. Whether this will have any long-term impact on his career remains to be seen.
