North Korea Sends 500 More Balloons of Trash to South Korea

South Korean authorities have reported the detection of around 500 balloons filled with trash launched from North Korea in recent hours. Notably, one of these balloons landed on Wednesday at the official presidential residence in South Korea.

Approximately 480 of the balloons fell in the Seoul area and the northern section of the nearby Gyeonggi Province, according to the South Korean Armed Forces’ General Staff, as reported by the Yonhap news agency.

This latest wave of balloon launches follows a similar event that occurred on Sunday, which also involved around 500 balloons. It is part of a propaganda war that began in May, with South Korea responding by broadcasting pop music and propaganda messages via loudspeakers. Additionally, South Korean activists have been releasing leaflets across the border into North Korea.
