Palestinian killed by Israeli soldiers during operation in West Bank

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported early Tuesday that a Palestinian man has died from injuries sustained from gunfire by Israeli military forces during an operation in the village of Sair, located northeast of Hebron in the West Bank.

The man, identified as 39-year-old Yihad Muhamad Huseín Shalaldé, succumbed to his wounds, which the ministry referred to as the result of "occupation forces" attacks. This information was shared via a statement on the ministry’s official Facebook account.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have not yet commented on this incident. However, reports indicate that troops stormed the village at dawn, employing live ammunition and tear gas, along with making multiple arrests. This information comes from the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

Military operations by the Israeli army in the West Bank have intensified following the attacks by Hamas and other Palestinian militias on October 7, which resulted in approximately 1,200 deaths and nearly 240 kidnappings, as reported by Israeli authorities. Since those attacks, more than 560 Palestinians have reportedly lost their lives in the region, including victims of violence from Israeli settlers. The ongoing conflict has also resulted in over 37,900 fatalities in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli military’s offensive operations.
