Parliament Observes Moment of Silence for Latest Feminicide Victims in Catalonia

On Thursday, Pere Aragonès, the acting president of the Generalitat, along with members of the Govern and representatives from various parliamentary groups, held a minute of silence at the Parliament to honor the latest victims of femicide in Catalonia.

Before the session began, the President of the Chamber, Josep Rull, emphasized that there have been 18 victims of gender-based violence this year alone in Catalonia. He reaffirmed the Parliament’s commitment to eradicating all forms of violence against women.

The two victims were tragically murdered on July 13 in Salou, Tarragona, and on July 14 in Sabadell, Barcelona. Such ongoing violence underscores the urgent need for action and awareness in society.
