Pete Davidson has revealed that he "can’t quit" smoking marijuana just yet. The 30-year-old actor, known for his role in ‘Bupkis’, has been undergoing rehabilitation to address his post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder. Despite being clean from other substances, he admits that he still relies on cannabis.
During a show for his ‘Pete Davidson: Rehab Tour’ in Atlantic City, Pete confessed to the audience, "I can’t stop (smoking weed) yet. It’s the only thing I have left. I’ve done coke, ketamine, and every pill possible. The only thing left is weed, so I’m almost done, but I’m holding on a little longer."
In August 2023, reports suggested that Pete was using ketamine to help manage his depression. This comes after a long battle with his mental health, which has been deeply affected by the loss of his father, a firefighter, during the 9/11 attacks.
Additionally, in a performance at Madison Square Garden in 2023, the former ‘Saturday Night Live’ star openly discussed his usage of ketamine, which is commonly known as a tranquilizer for horses. According to Page Six, a friend of Pete confirmed that he was not just using this drug alone.
Ketamine has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as a nasal spray, and it is increasingly recognized as a treatment for severe depression that has not responded to traditional medications.
Pete has been candid about his struggles with mental health. In a YouTube interview with Charlamagne tha God in 2022, he stated, "I’m always depressed, all the time. I have to climb out of depression constantly. I wake up feeling depressed. I hit rock bottom when people start to worry about my life, and then I have to pull myself back up. I think I’ve hit rock bottom several times."
