Pop icon Pink has been forced to cancel her upcoming concert in Bern, Switzerland, due to health concerns. The “What About Us” singer took to Instagram on Tuesday (July 2) to announce the cancellation, expressing her deep regret and explaining that she had to follow her doctor’s advice.
“I am so sorry that I have had to cancel my show in Bern this Wednesday,” Pink wrote in her post. “I do everything I can to ensure I can perform for you every night, but after consultation with my doctor and exploring all options available, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to continue with the show tomorrow.”
The highly anticipated concert was scheduled to take place on July 3 at Stadion Wankdorf in the Swiss capital, as part of her ongoing Summer Carnival tour. Currently, Pink is in the middle of her Summer Carnival tour, promoting her 2023 album “Trustfall.” The tour has seen her perform over 70 shows across Europe and North America, with more than 30 additional dates scheduled through the end of 2024.
Opening acts for the tour include Gayle, KidCutUp, and The Script in Europe, with Sheryl Crow joining The Script and KidCutUp for the North American leg. This isn’t the first time Pink has had to adjust her tour schedule. Last year, she postponed a concert in Arlington, Texas, due to a sinus infection and rescheduled two shows in Tacoma, Washington, citing “family medical issues.” The new dates for those performances have been set for September and November, respectively.
While the sudden cancellation in Bern is disappointing, fans remain supportive of Pink’s decision to prioritize her health. “Your health comes first,” one fan commented on her Instagram post. “We’ll be here when you’re ready.”
Pop star Pink has thrown in the towel on at least one Summer Carnival Tour stop, citing the advice of her doctors. The day before the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter was set to headline Stadion Wankdorf in Bern, Switzerland, she announced the show’s cancellation due to an unspecified health issue. “I am so sorry that I have had to cancel my show in Bern this Wednesday,” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “I do everything I can to ensure I can perform for you every night, but after consultation with my doctor and exploring all options available, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to continue with the show tomorrow.”
Known for her gravity-defying stage performances and live vocal prowess, the 44-year-old mother of two added she was “disappointed” about the missed date. “Sending love and health to you all, and I really hope to see you again soon,” she concluded her post, noting that all purchased tickets will be refunded.
The “Get the Party Started” singer’s next tour date is booked for Copenhagen on Saturday. She’s also scheduled to hit Amsterdam, Brussels, Stockholm, and three cities in Germany throughout July. It’s unknown if her current health condition will impact any of those performances. On Aug. 10, the Summer Carnival Tour is set to kick off in North America with a show in St. Louis. A New York metro area stop is scheduled for Oct. 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Pop star Pink regretfully canceled her July 3rd concert in Switzerland after doctors advised against her performing. Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, is known for her powerful vocals and rockstar performances, having burst onto the scene in the early 2000s with hits like “Get the Party Started.” Over the years, she has captivated audiences with her genre-blending music, heartfelt lyrics, and energetic live shows, often featuring acrobatic stunts. Unfortunately, her Swiss fans won’t witness these spectacular performances this time. On Instagram, Pink apologized for the cancellation, citing health concerns and a doctor’s advice. While she didn’t specify the health issues, she promised to make it up to her fans, who have been wishing her a speedy recovery.
More than a year into her Summer Carnival Tour, Pink is hitting pause due to an unspecified health issue. The Grammy-winning pop star announced Tuesday that her show scheduled show in Bern, Switzerland, is canceled due to doctor’s orders. “I am so sorry that I have had to cancel my show in Bern this Wednesday,” she wrote in an Instagram caption. “I do everything I can to ensure I can perform for you every night, but after consultation with my doctor and exploring all options available, I’ve been advised that I’m unable to continue with the show tomorrow.”
“I was looking forward to being with you and making memories with you and sharing our show with you and am so disappointed that we have to cancel,” she added. “Sending love and health to you all, and I really hope to see you again soon.” All purchased tickets will be refunded, Pink said.
She did not reveal details about her next show in Copenhagen, scheduled for Saturday. Her tour will head to Amsterdam, Brussels, and Stockholm, as well as several German cities, through the end of the month. On her Summer Carnival Tour, in support of her ninth studio album, “Trustfall,” Pink performs hits from across her two-decade musical career and fills stadiums with impressive visuals, from aerial acrobatics to over-the-top costumes.
The tour launched in Europe last June and circled North America from July through early October 2023, and in February, Pink embarked on a new leg of the tour in Australia and New Zealand. After wrapping up in Europe, Pink is slated to launch the second North American leg of the tour in St. Louis, Missouri, on Aug. 10.
Speaking to USA TODAY in 2023 about the inspirations behind “Trustfall,” Pink revealed making the album “was a three-year process.” “With the pandemic and my dad’s passing and then any time your kid is sick, it distills down what is important. And when a parent passes away, it’s like this suitcase you’re going to be unpacking the rest of your life, which also makes you think about well, who am I and who do I want to be and what’s keeping me from that?”
She continued, “And then, what are my priorities? My priorities are to live an authentic human experience and be completely transparent about it and to love and cuddle with my kids as long as they’ll let me.”
