Prince Harry has been encouraged to mend his relationship with the royal family, especially with his father, King Charles. Royal expert Robert Hardman has suggested that the Duke of Sussex should bring his children, Archie and Lilibet, to the UK, as King Charles is eager to meet them.
Hardman believes that bringing Meghan Markle, Archie, and Lilibet to Britain would be a significant step towards reconciliation. He explained that such a visit would help “normalize” the relationship with the king. “Once that happens, it’s not such big news when it happens again. Then you start to get somewhere,” Hardman noted.
Prince Harry recently returned to the UK for the Invictus Games, but he and Meghan have not made a family visit since 2022. The last time they visited was in June 2022, when they came to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s 70 years on the throne.
There is speculation that a royal reconciliation might be on the horizon. Prince Harry appears willing to offer support to the royal family as King Charles III and Kate Middleton face their respective cancer treatments.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly considering a temporary return to the UK’s royal fold. They have allegedly reached out to the Prince and Princess of Wales to facilitate this return.
Grant Harrold, the King’s former butler, expressed optimism about a possible reconciliation. “A reconciliation with Harry and Meghan is totally possible, 100%,” Harrold told The Post. He believes that Harry has likely reached out to Kate and William to offer his help, although whether they accept it is another matter.
Harrold added, “Sadly, it’s times like this that brings families together and blood is thicker than water.”
While the Sussexes want to support the royal family during this challenging time, it is believed that they are only interested in returning as working royals “on their own terms.”
In February, The Post revealed that King Charles had considered having Harry back on a temporary basis, despite keeping him at arm’s length from ongoing succession discussions.
However, it was reported that Prince William was “blocking” Harry’s return to protect his ailing wife.
Royal commentator and historian Richard Fitzwilliams echoed Harrold’s sentiments, suggesting that the current situation could be an opportunity to mend the royal rift. “This is a dread situation, a major operation followed by cancer,” Fitzwilliams said. “There is always sometimes in the most awful and serious thing sometimes opportunities come as well.”
Fitzwilliams added that this could also be a chance to silence those spreading malicious rumors. “This is also an opportunity for the trolls and the evil people spreading malicious rumors to be silenced,” he said.
Following Kate Middleton’s cancer announcement, Harry and Meghan expressed their hope for privacy for the Princess of Wales as she undergoes treatment. “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the couple said in a statement.
The royal family has had to undergo a significant reshuffle as King Charles and the Princess of Wales deal with their health issues.
It is understood that Harry and Meghan made contact with the Prince and Princess of Wales “privately” following Middleton’s announcement. However, sources told The Post that the Waleses have made a conscious effort to keep the Sussexes out of the loop regarding the health issues.
