Prince William shared a delightful moment with his cousin Princess Eugenie at Royal Ascot in Berkshire today. The Prince of Wales, 41, was seen gently teasing his younger cousin, playfully commenting on her choice of headgear.
Princess Eugenie, 34, daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, chose a pink outfit for the event. She paired her dress with a baby pink hat adorned with a long tassel that almost reached her collar. Her look was completed with light makeup, featuring peachy cheeks, full eyelashes, and glossy lips.
In a light-hearted gesture, William flicked the tassel that hung in front of Eugenie’s smiling face, causing both to laugh. Royal Ascot, a five-day flat horse racing event held annually at Ascot racecourse, is a significant event in the social calendar and is popular among the royals. The late Queen Elizabeth II was particularly fond of the event, and despite her passing, King Charles has continued to attend.
Prince William’s day wasn’t just filled with playful moments. He also demonstrated his gentlemanly nature by helping his mother-in-law, Carole Middleton, out of a tricky situation. Carole, making her first public appearance since her daughter’s cancer diagnosis, found herself with her heel stuck in the grass. William offered his hand to help her, and the two were seen laughing off the mishap as they rejoined the other guests.
At one point, Eugenie was seen catching up with Carole, who affectionately wrapped her arm around the princess. With her hair styled in an updo, Eugenie’s tattoo, a circle behind her ear, was visible. The tattoo, first noticed during the Platinum Jubilee National Service, has never been explained by Eugenie, but circles often symbolize the cycle of life and wholeness.
The cousins appeared to enjoy their time together at Royal Ascot, sharing laughs and light-hearted moments. Prince William’s playful teasing and his act of kindness towards Carole Middleton highlighted the close-knit nature of the royal family, even amidst the grandeur of such events.
