Princess Rajwa of Jordan Shines in Stunning New Baby Bump Photo
Princess Rajwa of Jordan has captivated the public with a beautiful new photo, marking her first appearance since she and her husband, Crown Prince Hussein, announced they are expecting their first child. The heir to the Jordanian throne shared the stunning image on Instagram to celebrate his wife’s 30th birthday over the weekend.
In the photo, Princess Rajwa stands in the foreground, beaming for the camera, while her husband stands lovingly behind her. The princess looked radiant in a long-sleeved red dress, accessorized with Schiaparelli’s statement gold brass ‘Mouth and Eye’ earrings and a Bottega Veneta Knot Intrecciato gold mesh clutch. Her hair was tied back in a center-parted style, and her makeup was kept light and rosy. Crown Prince Hussein captioned the image with a heartfelt message: “May God continue to bless and nurture the bond between us. Happy Birthday Rajwa.”
The royal couple delighted their followers earlier this month with the announcement of their pregnancy. A statement from the Royal Hashemite Court, released on April 10, read: “The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein are expecting their first baby this summer.” The statement continued, extending congratulations to King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and wishing the couple good health and joy as they prepare to welcome their baby.
Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa tied the knot last year in a grand ceremony attended by numerous royals, including the Prince and Princess of Wales. The couple’s Islamic marriage ceremony, known as “katb ktab,” took place in the gardens of Zahran Palace, witnessed by around 140 guests, including Denmark’s then-Crown Prince Frederik and Princess Mary, and Dutch royals King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, and Princess Catharina-Amalia. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds traveled from Zahran Palace to Al Husseiniya Palace for their wedding reception in a procession known as the Red Motorcade.
The Red Motorcade is a traditional procession consisting of eight bright red armed Land Rover vehicles and 11 motorcycles. On special occasions, horse and camel riders join the line-up, and the Jordan Armed Forces Musical Band plays military music on bagpipes. On her wedding day, architect Rajwa looked stunning in a breathtaking Elie Saab one-shoulder draped satin gown with a long train. She completed her bridal look with a sparkling diamond tiara and a sheer veil.
In a heartfelt post shared to celebrate their nuptials, Crown Prince Hussein paid another lovely tribute to his wife, writing: “God has blessed me with Rajwa, the light of my life and my lifelong companion. May our marriage bring us both peace and warmth. I pray that God continues to bless us.” He also expressed his gratitude to everyone who celebrated with them from Jordan and around the world.
Queen Rania of Jordan is likely overjoyed as she awaits the arrival of her first grandchild. On Friday, the Queen took to Instagram to share a message for her son on his birthday, expressing her excitement about the baby. Alongside a photo of the royal couple, Queen Rania wrote: “Happy birthday my dearest Hussein. Can’t wait to see you and Rajwa as parents!” The family photo shows Crown Prince Hussein embracing Princess Rajwa from the side, lovingly placing his hand on her baby bump as they gaze into the distance.
Princess Rajwa has been debuting sensational pregnancy style, posing in a number of beautiful dresses since announcing her pregnancy. In official portraits, she wore a dress with floaty sleeves in a bright red shade that suits her perfectly. Red seems to be a favorite color for Rajwa, as she donned a regal dress in the same color for the King’s Silver Jubilee earlier in June, complete with jewel detailing.
The joyous announcement of the couple’s pregnancy comes after Rajwa’s tragic loss of her father in February, just months after she married into the Jordanian royal family. Khaled bin Musaed bin Saif bin Abdulaziz Al Saif passed away at the age of 71. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Prince Hussein shared a picture of him embracing Khaled, who became his ‘beloved’ father-in-law after marrying Princess Rajwa. He wrote: “With profound sadness and sorrow, we bid farewell to my beloved father-in-law. We will always remember his kindness, generosity, and integrity. May God bestow mercy upon him and grant us patience and strength.”
Hussein and Rajwa were married in June last year at Zahran Palace in Amman. Following a short service, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania hosted a lavish reception at the Al Husseiniya Palace, attended by more than 1,700 guests. Rajwa dazzled in a white gown by Lebanese designer Elie Saab, featuring a lengthy train embroidered with flowers, and a sparkling diamond tiara. The wedding ceremony, known as a ‘katb ktab,’ was held in a gazebo and conducted by the Royal Hashemite Court Imam Dr. Ahmed Al Khalaileh.
Princess Rajwa was educated in Saudi Arabia before moving to the US for university. She studied Architecture at Syracuse University and later pursued Visual Communications at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. She worked at an architecture firm in Los Angeles and was employed by Designlab Experience design studio in Riyadh last year. Along with her passion for horseback riding, Rajwa enjoys drawing and making art in her spare time.
Despite Hussein’s public profile, the couple largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight initially. The Crown Prince announced his engagement to Rajwa in August 2022, after proposing at her home in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He chose a show-stopping pear-shaped diamond set on a pave band for the proposal. Both families were present for the special moment.
As the couple prepares to welcome their first child, the public eagerly anticipates more glimpses of Princess Rajwa’s stunning pregnancy style and the joy that the new addition will bring to the Jordanian royal family.
