Prohens criticizes Sánchez’s ministers for coming to Baleares to incite conflict.

Marga Prohens, the president of the Balearic Islands government, has expressed strong criticism toward ministers from Pedro Sánchez’s government, accusing them of coming to the Balearics to create conflict and tension.

Her remarks were in response to comments made on Thursday in Palma by Ángel Víctor Torres, the Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory. Torres indicated that there are “signs of unconstitutionality” in the recently announced administrative simplification decree. He also hinted at a lack of distinction between Prohens and Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont concerning her request for an exception for the Balearics in the distribution of unaccompanied minors.

In reaction to these assertions, Prohens countered that Torres does not take the time to engage in discussions on pressing issues that concern the island’s residents. These include matters like the unique challenges of insularity, the lack of personnel from the General State Administration, unmet financial commitments, as well as the ongoing migration crisis. Instead, he chooses to criticize her government and question policies that local citizens support through their votes.

Prohens firmly stated, “I will not tolerate the constant disdain from the PSOE government towards the citizens of the Balearics.”
