Retirees and ANSES pensioners: How much will I receive in August with the confirmed increase?

The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) officially announced on July 23rd a 4.58% increase in pensions and retirement benefits, along with family allowance amounts, effective from August. This change aligns with the inflation rate from June. The measure was published in resolutions 389 and 390/2024 in the Official Gazette on Tuesday.

This increase applies the new mobility formula that took effect in July, ensuring that monthly payments are adjusted according to the inflation rate of the second month prior to the payment date.

As a result, the minimum guaranteed pension will be $225,454.42 starting in August 2024, while the maximum pension will be $1,517,094.80 for that month.

For those receiving the minimum pension, the government confirmed that they will receive an additional bonus of $70,000, raising the minimum income to $295,454 for August. Individuals with pensions lower than this amount will receive a proportional bonus until they reach it.

The official document signed by ANSES head, Mariano de los Heros, also set the minimum and maximum taxable income at $75,933.01 and $2,467,787.04, respectively, effective for the earnings period of August 2024.

Additionally, the Basic Universal Benefit (PBU) will be $103,135.11 starting next month. Meanwhile, the Universal Pension for the Elderly (PUAM) is set at $180,363.54. Beneficiaries of PUAM will also receive the $70,000 bonus, bringing their total income to $250,363.

Regarding family allowances, starting in August, the Universal Child Allowance (AUH) will be $81,010. AUH for children with disabilities will be $263,791, while the Family Allowance for Children will be $40,505 for the first income range (up to $627,230 per family unit).

The regulatory text clarifies that if any family member earns more than $1,660,759, the entire family will be excluded from receiving family allowances, even if the total income does not exceed the established maximum limit.
