Ryan Reynolds recently shared the name of his fourth child with his wife, Blake Lively. The actor attended the premiere of his new film, ‘Deadpool and Wolverine,’ in New York City on Monday night (July 22, 2024). During his speech, he expressed gratitude to his family, mentioning Blake, 36, and their four children: nine-year-old James, seven-year-old Inez, four-year-old Betty, and 17-month-old baby Olin.
Speaking from the stage at Lincoln Center, Reynolds stated, "I want to start by thanking my wife Blake, who is here. I also want to thank my kids, James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are all present. I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic—meaning, the content of this film—that happens in their wonderful lives. I love having my whole family here."
The high-profile couple has yet to disclose the sex of their little one, but the name Olin is traditionally a masculine Scandinavian name that means "heir" or "descendant." It is actually a diminutive form of Olaf.
In May, Reynolds responded to rumors suggesting that Taylor Swift may have revealed the name of his fourth child in her recent album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ During an appearance on the show ‘Today,’ the ‘Deadpool’ star humorously remarked, "We’re always waiting for Taylor to tell us what the kid’s name is, and I’ll say this: We’re still waiting."
Swift’s song ‘Betty,’ featured on her 2020 album ‘Folklore,’ is named after Ryan and Blake’s daughter, and it also includes mentions of her older sisters, Inez and James. In 2020, the superstar confirmed that she had named the characters in her song after the children of her good friend Blake.
She shared this with Country Radio: "I named all the characters in this story in honor of my friends’ kids."
