His key advisor, Santiago Caputo, who is considered the third most powerful figure in the libertarian government, is also quite active on Twitter, although he has typically operated in the shadows, consistent with his style.
Recently, on July 22, Caputo sparked controversy when he directed messages at journalists and political leaders, some accompanied by a video displaying a cache of weapons. This prompted the social media platform, owned by Elon Musk, to suspend his account, as they deemed his posts to be threatening.
Milei has shown complete support for both Caputo and a member of his team, “Gordo Dan,” asserting that anyone who does not understand their methods should leave. This authoritarian approach tends to frustrate those who wield power and believe they possess the ultimate truth.

Caputo has been linked to the Twitter alias “Snakedoclives” since April, a connection that the political circles attributed to him, though he has neither confirmed nor denied it publicly. He rarely gives interviews and does not maintain any other known profiles under his real name, although he has seemingly acknowledged this identity through the anonymous account.
In a recent post, Snakedoclives made provocative comments aimed at specific individuals, including former national deputy Alejandro “Topo” RodrÃguez and journalist Diego Sehinkman, while referencing the National Agency for Controlled Materials (ANMAC), responsible for issuing firearm permits. One of his remarks seemed to target Fernando Vilella, a recently dismissed official subjected to harassment from militant Twitter users.
After this tweet, his account was suspended for violating the platform’s terms of service. This isn’t an isolated incident; earlier in the year, a different account that had also been attributed to Caputo, named @NicolaBrandeis, was closed after months of activity.
Before the recent uproar, Caputo posted a message defending Milei’s administration to what he referred to as the “circle rojo,” reinforcing a hardline stance in support of the official narrative. He expressed strong views about the expected changes in government, asserting that many believed the “change” sought by Argentinians was superficial.
Caputo admitted that their group is unyielding regarding party discipline and believes that the current democratic system is failing. He emphasized that they are unconcerned with offending those linked to Argentina’s past failures, stating that none of their words or actions can alter the unfolding events.
He directed a pointed message to influential journalists, suggesting they should adapt to the current political landscape or risk being left behind. According to him, the consequences of the past decade’s decisions are now unavoidable. Caputo made it clear that he perceives the notion of a “serious” or “moderate” alternative as illusory, arguing that any future outcomes would affect everyone equally—either positively or negatively.
He concluded his message by sending his regards to a well-known journalist, Carlos Pagni, signaling a shared understanding of the current media landscape as he began his editorial segment.
