Scammers Target Britney Spears $1.2m Unsold Childhood Home

Scammers have set their sights on Britney Spears’ childhood home, a $1.2 million property that has struggled to find a buyer since it was listed on the market. The house, located in Kentwood, Louisiana, has been on sale since October, with some potential buyers considering transforming it into a modern-day Graceland.

The pop icon, now 42, moved to this single-story home at the age of three. The property, which holds significant sentimental value, remained in the Spears family until 2021 when her father, Jamie Spears, sold it for $289,000. Exclusive photos reveal that the house has been preserved in its original condition, complete with pro-Trump flags flying above it.

Realtor Yvonne Hulsey, who has been handling the sale, mentioned that Jamie Spears left behind various belongings when he sold the estate. The house, built in 1979, still features many of the original furnishings and even has graffiti on one of the closet doors that reads, “Christina [Aguilera] sucks, and Britney rocks,” a nod to the pop rivalry of the early 2000s.

Despite its historical significance and the interest it has garnered, the property has yet to find a solid buyer. Hulsey noted that while there has been a lot of activity, many of the inquiries have come from scammers. “I’ve had a lot of activity, but I haven’t had a solid buyer yet,” she said. “A lot of scammers, but I don’t have anything locked in yet.”

The house, which spans 2,200 square feet, includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms. It still features NSYNC stickers and other ’90s pop decor in the bedroom believed to have belonged to Spears. Inside, there are original artworks by Spears from her youth, including a drawing of a house with flowers and mountains and a picture that reads, “Jesus loves me!”

Hulsey mentioned that the original dance studio where Spears’ love for dancing began remains untouched. “Her dance studio, all the mirrors are still intact, the floor, and everything is still intact when Britney left it,” she said. Despite the new owner keeping the furnishings pristine, finding a buyer has been challenging.

The property has attracted interest from people looking to turn it into a bed and breakfast or a museum, given its iconic status. However, no concrete offers have been made. “There are people that are interested in turning it into a bed and breakfast or a museum,” Hulsey said. “You know, being an iconic property, there’s been a lot of interest. I just don’t have anything solid.”

The house, which has been described as “the cool house” by Spears in her memoir “The Woman In Me,” holds a special place in her heart despite her referring to it as a “zoo.” The memoir provides a glimpse into her upbringing in the Kentwood home, adding to the property’s allure.

As the property continues to sit on the market, the presence of scammers has added an extra layer of complexity to the sale. Hulsey remains hopeful that a genuine buyer will come forward, someone who appreciates the historical and sentimental value of the home.

In the meantime, the house stands as a testament to Spears’ early years, a relic of her journey from a small-town girl to a global pop sensation. The struggle to sell the property highlights the challenges of dealing with iconic real estate, where the emotional and historical significance often outweighs the market value.

As the search for a buyer continues, the hope is that the right person will come along, someone who sees the potential in preserving a piece of pop culture history. Until then, the house remains a symbol of Spears’ past, a place where her dreams began and where her legacy continues to live on.
