“September at the Gran Rex will be the grand finale of my 20th anniversary tour,” says Alex Ubago

The news brings joy: Alex Ubago is returning to perform in our country after last year’s success. The excitement is doubled because he has chosen the Gran Rex (Av. Corrientes 857, CABA) to conclude his “20 Years” tour on September 20. In an exclusive interview, Alex revealed that he will perform hits like “Sin miedo a nada,” the song that catapulted him to global fame, as well as “Qué pides tú?”, “Sigo aquí,” and “Aunque no te pueda ver,” among others.

Thus, Ubago is touring international stages with a very special tour that extensively revisits his 20 years of music, which has earned him recognition as one of the great composers of love songs. We discussed this and other topics with him via Zoom:

“Professional and critical journalism is a fundamental pillar of democracy. That’s why it bothers those who believe they hold the absolute truth.”

“With this tour, I’m back on the road to celebrate my over two decades in music, revisiting the most important songs from my repertoire. It’s a very emotional concert that will be a journey through these 20 years of songs,” said the Spanish singer-songwriter. Just a few weeks after the show in our country, his new studio album, “Galerna,” is set to be released on October 18. The new song “Siete Mares” has already been unveiled, featuring acoustic character and lyrics about long-distance love.

“I’m thrilled to return to Argentina. We already had the first round of this 20-year tour in November last year, and I’m super excited about this new date at the Gran Rex. It will be a grand finale to a tour that took two years,” Ubago revealed during the interview. “Upon reaching 20 years in music, I took a moment to look back at all that I’ve been fortunate to experience. Even in my wildest childhood or teenage dreams, I couldn’t have imagined experiencing so many wonderful things through music and connecting with so many people in such diverse places with my songs.”

The final question during the interview was about what he plans to do as soon as he arrives in Buenos Aires, a city where he has spent a lot of time over his 20-year career. After thinking for a moment, the beloved Alex said, “I think I’ll grab a choripán or some asado de tira. I’m a huge fan. And catch up with a good friend over a glass of wine. Also, I’ll take a stroll around Puerto Madero and Palermo.” We’re counting down the days until we see him performing live among us. Find more information about the tickets here.
