Sir Mick Jagger has no plans to write an autobiography. The 80-year-old rock star, a founding member of The Rolling Stones, has reportedly turned down lucrative offers for a memoir, as he claims he is simply “not interested” in reflecting on the past.
A source informed The Sun’s Bizarre column, stating, “Mick has declined to write a book about his career and life. The offers exceed $20 million, but he prefers to look forward rather than dwell on the past. Spending 18 months or more working with an editor isn’t something he’s interested in. Thanks, but no.”
Over the years, the life of the iconic “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” artist has been documented in numerous biographies. A notable one from 2022 even mentioned his rumored romances with bandmate Keith Richards during the band’s early years, as well as with former guitarist Mick Taylor.
The long-standing speculation regarding Mick’s alleged affair with David Bowie is also featured in The Stone Age by Lesley-Ann Jones. The book discusses the supposed relationship between the rock legend and Austrian actor Helmut Berger, with the author suggesting that Jagger should be recognized as a “bisexual icon.”
Last year, Mick, who has eight children from various relationships, shared that nothing becomes “easier” as he grows older. He has been increasingly aware of his “mortality,” particularly since he is the oldest in his social circle.
In an interview with The Guardian, he stated, “No, it’s not easy at all. A lot of people your age are constantly dying. I don’t have friends older than me, only one. Aside from the band, all of my friends are much younger. You become aware of your own mortality from a fairly young age; it’s not something you just think about when you’re 70.”
