Snoop Dogg is marking a significant milestone in his personal life. The iconic rapper and TV personality, now 52, celebrated 27 years of marriage with his wife and business manager, Shante Broadus, on Saturday. The couple shared their joy with fans through a heartfelt Instagram post.
In a series of photos posted on Instagram, Snoop captioned the images with “#TwentySeven,” tagging Broadus. She reciprocated by sharing the same photos and a similar caption on her own Instagram account. The couple, who first met as teenagers, wore matching pink-and-white sweatsuits for the occasion. Snoop had his arm around Broadus in both pictures, and she accessorized with a bright blue cross-body bag.
Their love story began at Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California, where they attended prom together in 1989. They eventually tied the knot in June 1997 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey, California. Over the years, their relationship has seen its ups and downs, including a brief separation in 2004. However, they renewed their vows in 2008, solidifying their commitment to each other.
The couple has three children together: sons Cordé, 29, and Cordell, 27, and daughter Cori, 24. Snoop also has a 25-year-old son named Julian from a previous relationship with Laurie Helmond. Their family has grown to include grandchildren through their son Cordé, who has children Zion, Leo, and Elleven. Tragically, Cordé’s son Kai Love passed away in 2019 at just 10 days old.
Reflecting on their enduring marriage, Snoop shared his thoughts in a 2023 interview with Today. “I think because we were both young and we were both willing to sacrifice for each other,” he said. “She knew what my dreams and goals were, and at the same time, I knew what hers were.” He added, “When you truly love somebody, there ain’t nothing you can do to break that up, and I feel like that was true love at first sight.”
In 2024, Snoop revealed during an Instagram Live session on Wake & Bake with Double S Express that he turned down a potential $100 million deal with Only Fans for the sake of his marriage. “I’m like, I got a Black wife,” he explained. “Ain’t no way in the world she gonna allow me to go on there and pull that thang out for no amount of money.”
Snoop’s decision to make Shante his official business manager in June 2021 further solidified their partnership. Her role involves overseeing and expanding his various business ventures, including those in the cannabis, spirits, gaming, music, brand partnerships, touring, licensing, and TV/film spaces.
Despite the challenges they’ve faced, Snoop and Shante’s love has remained strong. Their journey from high school sweethearts to a power couple in the entertainment industry is a testament to their enduring bond. As they celebrate 27 years of marriage, their story continues to inspire fans around the world.
