The latest set photos from the Atlanta production of Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 5 have surfaced online, providing fans with a first look at Jamie Campbell Bower’s return. Bower is reprising his villainous role as Vecna/ Henry Creel, who was first introduced as Season 4’s main antagonist.
Shared on X, the newest batch of behind-the-scenes images shows Bower filming at the Creel House, while wearing an all-brown suit. This seemingly teases that Vecna/ Henry Creel will somehow regain his human form, and find a way to return to the real world after years of being stuck in the Upside Down. However, there’s also another possibility that Bower could just be filming a flashback scene or a dream sequence. Besides Bower, the set photos also confirmed Evil Dead Rise star Nell Fisher’s casting in Stranger Things Season 5. She can be seen filming with Bower’s Vecna. Since the final season will begin with a time jump, some fans on social media are speculating that Fisher could potentially be playing Nancy and Mike’s younger sister, Holly, which would mean that they might not be shooting a flashback scene of Vecna’s past.

Bower’s Vecna/ Henry Creel was the first gifted child that was put under the care of Dr. Brenner. In Season 4, it was revealed that he was the one responsible for his mother and sister’s murder after using his psychic abilities to brutally distort their bodies. He went on another murdering spree after manipulating Eleven into helping him unlock his powers. After he kills the rest of the kids in Dr. Brenner’s program, Eleven, inadvertently sends him away to the Upside Down, where his physical appearance gets disfigured. Vecna was last seen during the Season 4 finale, where his plans to completely destroy Hawkins were foiled by Eleven and Nancy’s group.
Stranger Things hails from creators and writers Matt and Ross Duffer, who are also directing and executive producing the fifth and final season alongside Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy. The series currently stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Charlie Heaton, and more. Joining them in Season 5 is the Terminator vet Linda Hamilton, whose character details remain a mystery. In a previous interview, some of the main cast, including Brown, Wolfhard, and Hawke, confirmed that The Duffer Brothers are protecting the show’s ending by not letting any of them read the script for the series finale.
