Over the past six years, Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson have kept their relationship relatively private. However, Suki recently graced the cover of British Vogue with their newborn daughter, offering a glimpse into their sweet relationship and her journey into motherhood.
Reflecting on her past, Suki mentioned her very public breakups with exes like Bradley Cooper. She opened up about meeting Robert at a star-studded game night in LA, where they hit it off immediately. Despite their initial connection, they didn’t cross paths again for another six or seven months before things became more serious.
Fast forward to November 2023, Suki announced her pregnancy during a live performance in Mexico. Speaking to Vogue, she confirmed that the pregnancy was fully planned. The 32-year-old described motherhood as “shocking in every way” but praised Robert for his support during the birth, even creating a rap music playlist to help her through it.
Suki’s new album, “Memoir of a Sparklemuffin,” is set to be released on September 13. In her interview, she shared how she found songwriting inspiration in this new era of her life as a mom and partner.
Suki Waterhouse is embracing her new role as a mother. The singer and actress, known for her role in the 2023 TV miniseries “Daisy Jones & The Six,” is opening up about being a new mom to a daughter with her partner Robert Pattinson. Describing early motherhood as “shocking in every way,” Suki shared her experiences in British Vogue’s August issue, where she appears on the cover with her daughter.
Suki recounted her surprise at learning about the demands of breastfeeding. “I was alarmed in the hospital when they kept waking me up,” she said. “I was like, ‘Excuse me? Is this what this entails?'” Despite the challenges, she found solace in Robert’s presence. “He was there with me, and like all dads, he was really nervous,” she said. “But for someone who’s quite an anxious person, he’s been very calm.” She added that Robert is “the dad I could have hoped for.”
Their love story began at a Hollywood game night attended by stars like Al Pacino, Javier Bardem, and Penélope Cruz. Suki recalled the intense atmosphere and how she and Robert started giggling at the absurdity of it all. “I think we both sort of have the same slight uncomfortable-ness,” she said. “There was a director that separated us because we were laughing too much.”
Suki and Robert didn’t see each other again for six or seven months, but that initial meeting had left an impression. “I think Rob’s quite funny, I light up when I’m around him,” she said, noting that living in LA became a lot more fun after meeting him.
The couple welcomed their baby girl six years into their relationship, and Suki assured that the pregnancy was planned. “One day we looked at each other and said, ‘Well, this is as ready as we’re going to be,'” she said. “I was like, ‘What can make more chaos?'”
Suki described early motherhood as “shocking” but found comfort in Robert’s support. “He was there with me and like all dads, he was really nervous,” she recalled. “But for someone who’s quite an anxious person, he’s been very calm.” She described Robert as “the dad I could have hoped for. I mean, a dad and his daughter? It’s an actual love story,” she said.
Last year, Suki shared the news of her pregnancy during her performance at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico. “I’m extra sparkly today because I thought it might distract you from something else that’s going on,” she said, pointing at her belly before revealing a baby bump. “I’m not sure if it’s working.”
Suki and Robert made their red carpet debut at the Dior Men’s Fall 2023 show in Giza, Egypt, in December 2022. They also attended the 2023 Met Gala together. This is their first child.
Earlier this month, Suki confirmed that she’d welcomed her first child with Robert via Instagram. The new mom shared a Polaroid-style image of herself cradling her baby on April 5, 2024, with the caption: ‘Welcome to the world angel.’ Three days later, she gave fans some insight into postpartum life with a series of mirror selfies in which she’s carrying a baby bottle. “The fourth trimester has been… humbling!” she wrote. “The postpartum period has been filled with exhilarating joy, so much laughter, tears, soo many hormones! I’m proud of everything my body has achieved and proud of the kindness and grace I’ve given myself during this recovery period.”
Suki also added a jokey reference to her ‘ootd,’ which included a pair of postpartum pants from motherhood brand Frida. The candid snapshot has already proved popular with fans, and it feels especially important in a world that piles pressure onto new moms to ‘bounce back.’
It’s believed that Suki and Robert welcomed their first baby earlier this year, having been spotted out on a family walk in LA in March 2024 with the new dad pushing a pink pram. The couple has been dating since 2018, and Suki confirmed her pregnancy in November 2023 at the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City. “I thought I’d wear something sparkly today to distract you from something else I’ve got going on,” she said, referring to her baby bump.
Suki is set to return to the stage at Coachella music festival in California, with her second performance scheduled for April 19. During her first Coachella appearance on April 12, she revealed that they had welcomed a baby girl. “Some pretty big events have been going down,” she said, referring to the birth of her first child during a set that included a cover of the Oasis classic “Don’t Look Back In Anger.” “I love amazing ladies and I’ve been very lucky to have my own little amazing lady and meet the love of my life.”
Suki and Robert were seen exploring the festival together after her performance. They also headed out on a family stroll in LA, keeping a low profile with their daughter.
