The fan-favorite animated series, The Dragon Prince, is set to return for its highly anticipated sixth season on July 26, 2024. After a long wait since the release of season 5 last year, fans are eager to dive back into the magical world of Xadia. The new trailer, released on The Dragon Prince YouTube channel, has confirmed the release date and teased multiple intriguing storylines for the upcoming season.
Season 6, titled Book 6: Stars, will consist of nine episodes. The trailer hints at several exciting plot developments. Soren and Corvus are seen with Zym in a mushroom-filled setting, suggesting they are near Mukho, who was healing Zubeia at the end of season 5. Meanwhile, a potential threat looms over Katolis, as Ezran stands with his guards in the rain outside the castle. This scene possibly foreshadows Claudia and Terry’s attempt to seize the pearl to free Aaravos. Additionally, a poignant moment with Janai in tears raises concerns for Amaya’s fate, though it could also relate to her people. The trailer also teases Aaravos’s return, with Claudia likely playing a significant role in his release.
The Dragon Prince, developed by Wonderstorm, first premiered on Netflix in September 2018. Each season is referred to as a book with a unique title. The first three seasons form a saga called The Dragon Prince, while the next three are known as Mystery of Aaravos. The final phase of the series is yet to be revealed. The titles of the books so far are:
- Season 1 / Book 1: Moon
- Season 2 / Book 2: Sky
- Season 3 / Book 3: Sun
- Season 4 / Book 4: Earth
- Season 5 / Book 5: Ocean
- Season 6 / Book 6: Stars
Over the past few months, the team behind the show has been gradually teasing the upcoming season. They have revealed the titles of the nine new episodes:
- Episode 1 – Startouched
- Episode 2 – Love, War & Mushrooms
- Episode 3 – The Frozen Ship
- Episode 4 – The Starscraper
- Episode 5 – Moonless Night
- Episode 6 – Moment of Truth
- Episode 7 – The Red Wedding
- Episode 8 – We All Fall Down
- Episode 9 – Stardust
In addition to the trailer, several posters have been released to build excitement for the new season. The first poster was unveiled at Geeked Week late last year when Netflix confirmed that the new season would drop in 2024.
The Dragon Prince won’t be the only animated title making a return in July 2024. Star Trek: Prodigy is also set to return with its second season on July 1, 2024. Fans of animated series have a lot to look forward to this summer.
Alongside the trailer and posters, some screenshots from the upcoming sixth season have been shared, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect. The series will continue beyond season 6, as it has already been renewed for a seventh and final season. Additionally, The Dragon Prince is getting a mobile game adaptation on Netflix Games. Titled The Dragon Prince: Xadia, the game is set to arrive at some point in 2024.
