Security in Bogotá is becoming increasingly alarming, as there’s been yet another vehicle theft reported in the city. A group of criminals, traveling in a Mazda CX-30, managed to steal two cars from different locations.
On the night of July 23, a local morning program, El ojo de la noche, captured footage of six thieves in the Mazda CX-30 in the Modelia neighborhood of Fontibón. The robbers waited for a family to park their gray Toyota, with license plates JHU463, before confronting them and threatening them with firearms.
After executing their plan, four of the criminals headed to the Modelo Norte neighborhood, where another family reported that their white Toyota, with plates FVV-242 from Chía, had also been taken by carjackers. This incident confirmed the involvement of the same criminal gang, as they were still using the stolen gray Mazda CX-30 to move around.
For those living in or near Bogotá, it’s essential to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Stay updated on local news and consider joining community safety initiatives to help curb this rising wave of crime.
