Tia Mowry is officially the mom of a teenager! The Family Reunion alum, 45, posted a heartfelt tribute to her son, Cree, on Instagram for his 13th birthday on Friday, June 28. Mowry shares Cree and his younger sister, Cairo, with her ex-husband Cory Hardrict.
“Everyone move aside, we have a TEENAGER in the house! Happy Birthday, Cree! 🎉 I can’t believe my baby is growing up so fast,” the actress began the caption of a carousel of photos and videos. Mowry went on to praise Cree’s character, saying, “I have been blessed with such an intelligent, hilarious, and loving son.”
In her touching post, Mowry expressed her joy in watching Cree grow up. “Watching you grow into the amazing young man you are today fills my heart with so much joy. I love you with all my heart and I’m so proud to be your mommy. Here’s to many more incredible years ahead! 💖,” she concluded.
The photos and videos in her tribute showcased Cree’s fun and caring nature. Mowry included footage of her son dancing in his pajamas as a youngster, along with a video of him all grown up. In one recent clip, Cree can be seen telling the camera that his younger sister, Cairo, 6, is “lucky I love her very much” because she almost stepped on a beloved pair of sneakers he was wearing.
“Send a prayer my way. I’m gonna be looking like the mukbang people after they eat,” Cree humorously told the camera in another video, where he was sitting in front of a plate of fried chicken and waffles with ice cream on top.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE in April, Mowry revealed that Cree is interested in mukbang videos, where people film themselves eating large amounts of food. “Cree is really into mukbangs. He’s on YouTube and he loves Asian culture and Asian cuisine, so he’s watching tons of those videos and learning more about different recipes,” she said.
Mowry also shared that she and Cree enjoy exploring different types of delicacies and food together. “We love to go out to eat together — just him and I sometimes, or we’ll go with Uncle Tahj because he also loves anime and Asian culture as well — and we’ll just explore different types of delicacies and food. He loves doing that and he also loves basketball,” she added, referring to her brother Tahj.
Mowry’s Instagram tribute to Cree also included a photo proving that the newly minted teen has been interested in all things food from a young age. In the throwback snap, the mother-son pair can be seen icing cookies together in the kitchen.
