Travis Kelce has turned down an offer to star in a Netflix docuseries. Although he previously participated in the reality show “Catching Kelce,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end decided against appearing in the continuation of the popular series “Quarterback.”
In a recent interview on the podcast “Bussin’ with the Boys,” the 34-year-old explained his decision. He revealed, “After Patrick Mahomes did ‘Quarterback,’ I was asked if I wanted to participate. I don’t know. I’d rather focus on playing ball. I’m already doing a lot with the podcast. I’m quite above reality, man. I’m out of it.”
Following Kelce’s refusal, it was announced that Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings, Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, Amon-Ra St. Brown from the Detroit Lions, and his San Francisco 49ers teammates George Kittle and Deebo Samuel will be featured in the upcoming season.
Travis co-hosts the successful podcast “New Heights” with his brother, Jason Kelce, a retired NFL star. Earlier in his career, Travis shared his thoughts on “Catching Kelce,” a seven-episode series he filmed when he was just 25. He mentioned to the Wall Street Journal, “I don’t really look back at the era of ‘Catching Kelce.'”
Currently, he is focused on his relationship with superstar Taylor Swift. During his chat on “Bussin’ with the Boys,” he expressed his desire to keep things private, saying, “I want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything. I proudly say, ‘That’s my girl.’ You know what I mean? That’s my girl, so… I’m proud of that.”
He continued, “I’m not sitting here trying to juggle keeping this a secret. I just don’t want everyone to get into my personal life and comment on it, knowing that everything she does makes headlines. It’s a different demographic than the NFL, so it’s been nice to dive into that and see her followers and all of that. It’s been fun because more and more kids are becoming football fans, and her followers are turning into fans of the Chiefs. I’ve enjoyed it on all fronts.”
