Travis Kelce has opened up about the staggering cost of the suite where his girlfriend Taylor Swift and their friends watched the Super Bowl. In the Netflix docuseries “Receiver,” which follows various NFL receivers throughout the 2023 football season, Kelce revealed the eye-watering price tag during a conversation with San Francisco 49ers receiver George Kittle.
Kittle, who was discussing the high cost of Super Bowl tickets, mentioned that he planned to have his loved ones sit in the regular stands. Kelce then chimed in, revealing that a private box for the big game cost a whopping $3 million. Despite earning $15 million per season, Kittle decided against paying for a private box, noting that his family would be fine in the stands. However, he did mention that the team’s running back, Christian McCaffrey, managed to get a “nice deal” for his private box.
McCaffrey’s mother, Lisa, and his now-wife, Olivia Culpo, had previously admitted on the “Your Mom” podcast that they had looked into getting a suite for the Super Bowl but found it unaffordable. “We looked into a suite, and none of us can afford it. Not even Christian, moneybags over there,” Lisa said. Olivia added, “So we are not in a suite. I’ll tell you that right now.” However, Olivia later surprised Lisa by purchasing a suite for them, as revealed in an Instagram Story.
Even Kelce’s mother, Donna, was convinced she would be sitting in the stands due to the high cost of private suites. “You can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multimillion dollars, so I have a feeling I’m not in a box,” Donna said in an interview with Today. “As far as I know, I’m in the stands with everybody else because it is a pricey Super Bowl.”
Despite the hefty price tag, it appears Kelce decided to go ahead and purchase the suite. He hinted at this during an episode of his “New Heights” podcast, where he joked about preparing for the game by thinking about “losing all this money.” “I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come,” he said.
The Chiefs ultimately won the game, scoring a touchdown in overtime, marking the second time in Super Bowl history that the game resulted in overtime. Following the team’s win, Swift ran down to the field alongside Kelce’s mother. After Travis accepted the trophy and cheered with the crowd, he joined his mother and Swift back on the field, where he hugged and kissed the singer. “Come here, girl,” Travis could be heard telling Swift before enveloping her in a huge hug.
Earlier this year, Super Bowl suite tickets became a topic of conversation when Donna Kelce and Lisa McCaffrey revealed they would not be getting a suite at Allegiant Stadium due to the astronomical prices. However, they did get to watch the big game from a suite, and in Netflix’s new sports docuseries, “Receiver,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed just how pricey those seats were.
In the final episode of the series, a conversation between Kelce and George Kittle revealed the high cost of the luxury seats for the 2024 Super Bowl. “Are you guys doing a suite or,” Kelce asked. “No, I can’t,” Kittle responded before Kelce added with a smirk, “Because they’re f—ing $3 million.”
Kittle agreed, adding that he told his family and friends, “You guys are gonna be fine.” Donna Kelce had also mentioned in a February interview with “Today” that she had a “feeling” she would be in the stands watching her son play in what would eventually be his third Super Bowl victory. “Well, you can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multimillion dollars, so I have a feeling I’m not in a box,” she said with a laugh. “As far as I know, I’m in the stands.”
Lisa McCaffrey echoed that sentiment during an appearance on Olivia Culpo’s podcast. “We looked into a suite, and none of us can afford it,” she said. “Not even Christian, money bags over there — nor money bags Olivia.” Both would eventually get to watch the Chiefs and Niners face off in a suite. For Kelce, his supporting cast included a star-studded lineup of popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, Miles Teller, Lana Del Rey, and Cara Delevingne.
Kelce’s brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, and their family were also in the suite, joined by Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany Mahomes. The Super Bowl would go down in Tayvis (or Swelce, depending on who you ask) history as one of the defining moments in the couple’s now one-year relationship. The pair even sweetly smooched after the Chiefs’ win and shared an adorable conversation on the field.
Swift, a billionaire in her own right, has been on the receiving end of support from her beau. Since going public with their love story back in September, Kelce has traveled all around the world with his lover and applauded her during her Eras Tour shows. The tight end even recently had a surprise song setlist seemingly devoted to him in Amsterdam and made his debut on stage with Swift in London.
In May, a source told ET that while they are increasingly busy in life, Swift and Kelce are very much in love and unafraid to show it. Furthermore, those closest to them would not be surprised should Kelce pop the question and Swift accept his proposal. “Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later. They make a great match and there’s no question about that,” the source shared.
