The Revolution and Atlanta United FC last met four months ago at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, where Atlanta secured a 4-1 victory, ending New England’s six-game unbeaten streak in the series. Despite this setback, the Revolution have won their last three home games against Atlanta, including a 2-1 win last July.

The Revolution, currently holding a 6-11-1 record with 19 points, saw their four-game winning streak snapped by the Columbus Crew in a 5-1 defeat last weekend. Ema Boateng scored early for New England, but Columbus responded with five unanswered goals. The Revolution will be looking to bounce back against an Atlanta team that sits just five points above them in the Eastern Conference standings.

Atlanta United FC, with a 6-8-6 record and 24 points, experienced a rough patch in April and May, going winless in nine games. This led to the departure of head coach Gonzalo Pineda in early June. Interim head coach Rob Valentino, a former first-round SuperDraft pick of the Revolution, has led Atlanta to an unbeaten streak of four games, including a dramatic 2-1 win over Toronto FC last weekend.

Following Wednesday’s match, the Revolution will travel to the Pacific Northwest for a Saturday evening showdown with Seattle Sounders FC.

Overall, the Revolution have a 4-6-4 record against Atlanta United FC, with a 3-1-2 record at home. The last meeting at Gillette Stadium saw the Revolution win 2-1 on July 12, 2023, while the most recent encounter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium ended in a 4-1 victory for Atlanta on March 9, 2024.

On Wednesday night, the Revolution will don their “Boston Tea Party” kit, which will serve as the club’s primary uniform for the 2024 and 2025 MLS seasons. The kit commemorates the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, featuring red and white vertical waves representing the ripples in Boston Harbor made by the tea crates. The navy jersey includes red shoulders with three white stripes, paired with navy shorts and socks with red and white striping.

Fans can purchase the “Boston Tea Party” kit online.

In other MLS action, the Minnesota United FC will host the Vancouver Whitecaps in a midweek matchup. The Loons, who recently lost to the Portland Timbers, will look to secure points against a Whitecaps team that sits just one spot and one point below them in the Western Conference standings. Fans can watch the game on Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass or listen on 1500 ESPN.

Fans can also enjoy a specialty cocktail, the Bomb-Pop ‘Mosa, available at the Halfway Bar in section 32.

MNUFC, in partnership with Ecolab, has installed six new water bottle refill stations around Allianz Field. Fans can bring empty, clear plastic bottles to use with the stations. The first 10,000 fans at Wednesday’s game will receive a free Ecolab water bottle.
