Varun Tej’s Matka Shoot Resumes
Mega hero Varun Tej, who has faced a string of setbacks in his recent films, is set to resume shooting for his upcoming movie, Matka. The film, which had been put on hold due to budget constraints, will recommence filming on June 12th in Hyderabad. Directed by Karuna Kumar, Matka is a period mass entertainer featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary as the leading lady. The production team has constructed multiple sets at Ramoji Film City, where a significant portion of the movie will be shot.
The cast of Matka also includes Nora Fatehi and Naveen Chandra in pivotal roles. The film is being produced by Vyra Entertainment and SRT Entertainments, with GV Prakash Kumar handling the music and background score. The makers are aiming for a theatrical release next year and are currently finalizing non-theatrical deals.
Varun Tej, who has experienced a series of box office failures, managed to convince the producers to continue with Matka after agreeing to a budget cut. The actor’s recent films, including Operation Valentine, have not performed well, leading to a decline in his theatrical market. However, Varun Tej is determined to make a strong comeback with Matka.
In addition to Matka, Varun Tej has also given his nod for a comic entertainer directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. This new project will be produced by Krish and Rajeev Reddy under Firstframe Entertainments. The script for this untitled film has been finalized, and pre-production work is underway. The film is expected to start rolling later this year, with a release planned for next year.
Varun Tej and director Krish share a strong bond, having previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed film Kanche. Krish also produced Anthariksham with Varun Tej. The actor is currently on a summer break but will soon resume shooting for Matka.
There are also talks of Varun Tej reuniting with director Sekhar Kammula for another project. The duo previously worked together on the memorable film Fidaa. Sekhar Kammula is currently busy with his film Kubera, featuring Dhanush and Nagarjuna. Once Kubera is completed, the project with Varun Tej is expected to start rolling next year.
Meanwhile, Varun Tej’s brother, Vaishnav Tej, who made an impressive debut with Uppena, is also in talks for a new project. Director Karuna Kumar, who is currently working on Matka, has impressed Vaishnav Tej with a script. If everything goes as planned, the shoot for this new film will begin after Karuna Kumar completes Matka.
Varun Tej is also set to participate in the election campaign for his uncle, Pawan Kalyan, in Andhra Pradesh. Pawan Kalyan is contesting from the Pithapuram Assembly constituency, and Varun Tej will join the campaign on April 27th. The actor’s father, Naga Babu, has been actively involved in the campaign, and Megastar Chiranjeevi is also expected to lend his support.
Despite the challenges, Varun Tej remains optimistic about Matka. The film, which had initially faced financial hurdles, is now back on track with a revised budget. Varun Tej has even agreed to reduce his remuneration and share the profits after the film’s release. The actor is hopeful that Matka will mark a successful comeback for him.
Varun Tej has been exploring new genres and interesting concepts, but his recent films have not fared well at the box office. His theatrical market has been shrinking, and producers are hesitant to take big risks. However, with Matka back on track, Varun Tej is aiming for a perfect comeback.
The actor is also in talks with Merlapaka Gandhi for a crime and adventure thriller, which is expected to be made on a pan-Indian scale. The project requires a significant budget, and the makers are currently evaluating the costs. An official announcement is expected soon.
Varun Tej’s recent films, including Ghani, Gandeevadhari Arjuna, and Operation Valentine, have not met expectations. This has impacted the production of Matka, which was initially planned on a large budget. However, with Varun Tej’s determination and the support of the producers, the film is now set to resume shooting.
The actor’s commercial successes, such as Tholi Prema, Fidaa, F2, and Gaddalakonda Ganesh, have previously garnered good box office collections. Varun Tej is now focused on reviving his theatrical market with Matka and his upcoming projects.
As the shoot for Matka resumes, fans and industry insiders are eagerly awaiting the film’s release. With a talented cast and crew, and Varun Tej’s commitment to making a strong comeback, Matka is poised to be a significant film in the actor’s career.
