If you thought getting tickets to Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS Tour was tough, just wait until you hear about the frenzy surrounding her limited-edition Stanley tumbler. On Tuesday, July 9, Stanley launched the official drop using an EQL launch system, a lottery designed to thwart resellers. However, many fans, known as Livies, encountered issues even submitting their information. The process required fans to enter their name, delivery address, and credit card information into the EQL submission form without knowing if they’d actually receive the $55 40-ounce tumbler. Site errors prevented some fans from entering, and many others weren’t selected to “win” the Olivia Rodrigo x Stanley Quencher. Yes, it’s literally just a water bottle.
Unfortunately, it’s time to cue up “traitor” and grab some tissues because, according to Stanley, the limited-edition collaboration won’t be restocked once it sells out. Some fans are trying to see the silver lining. As one pointed out on X (formerly known as Twitter), “Every Livie that gets the Olivia Stanley is a win for me ‘cause that means one less cup that goes to resellers.” Assuming Stanley’s EQL method worked properly, this means there will likely be fewer opportunities for those who missed out to find the Quencher on resale sites like eBay or Poshmark.
The official purple OR cup is one of Stanley’s 40-ounce Quencher H2.0 Flowstate Tumblers, featuring a clear SOUR grape lid and a reusable straw. The design mirrors Rodrigo’s GUTS tour poster with “vampire”-red and silver stars adorning the side. A Stanley representative told Elite Daily that “Olivia was involved in the design process” of her exclusive cup. In the launch announcement on July 2, Rodrigo can be seen drinking from her own tumbler on tour, making it a teenage dream of a collaboration.
Given the popularity and viral nature of Stanley cups, one has to wonder if there might be more products featuring the “obsessed” singer in the future. Although Stanley doesn’t have plans right now, the same representative mentioned that the brand is always trying to “keep a pulse on consumer trends.” If enough Livies show interest, there’s always hope for something more. Until then, fans can get a purple Stanley cup and customize it with silver stars to create a Rodrigo dupe. Stanley even offers a set of reusable straws in a matching purple shade.
As someone who can hardly remember what happened last week, it’s almost impossible for me to think back to January of 2023. But if you asked me to tell you what I ate for dinner last Tuesday night, chances are I could describe my entire meal, which chair I sat in, and which of my roommates joined me for dinner. Food creates memories, so I decided that the best way to remember 2023 would be to go back and highlight the primary food events of each month. This food recap of 2023 by month might make you nostalgic or angry that you didn’t get that Starbucks Stanley cup. Either way, 2023 was packed full of food-related memories.
January kicked off with Jennifer Coolidge sipping on Dunkin’ before winning a Golden Globe. Lizzo rocked the foodie world with her “Nature’s Oatmeal” recipe, making veganism look delicious. Oreo enthusiasts were thrilled with “The Most Oreo Oreo” that came out on January 30. January closed with Pizza Hut and Erik Decker breaking the world’s largest pizza record, officially starting the year with 14,000 square feet of pizza.
In February, we snacked our way through the Grammys with food inspired by our favorite nominees. Slice predicted pickle pizza to be the topping trend of 2023. Restaurants started selling pizzas with pickles, with DiGiorno’s pineapple pickle pizza being the most controversial. The egg shortage continued to drain our grocery budgets, and even Taylor Swift fans couldn’t lower egg prices like Trevor Noah wanted. February ended with a laugh over McDonald’s buggy AI drive-thru, determined to add nine sweet teas and extra butter to people’s orders.
March brought new hope and inspiration as winter ebbed and spring began. Ed Sheeran released his own brand of hot sauce, now available in the US. Candle companies introduced the “pasta water” candle, and Starbucks released the “Oleato” menu, bringing olive oil into the world of coffee. The Eras Tour began, and Swifties celebrated with Lavender Haze lemonade.
April Fools’ Day inspired brands to post prank product photos, like the “Nutella Tic Tacs.” Spring cleaning meant properly washing our beloved Stanley cups. Our Pop Culture Kitchen series brought trending celebrity recipes, such as Selena Gomez’s Spray Cheese Late Night Snack and Hailey Bieber’s Air Fryer Wings. We ended the month with a ranking of M&M’s flavors.
May saw chaos with the Starbucks Stanley cup collaboration. Online buyers had the best luck, but resale prices were exorbitant. Velveeta released “Cheesy Chocolate Truffles,” and Millie Bobby Brown launched her own brand of coffee.
June marked the end of school and the beginning of summer. We celebrated with pickle-flavored hard seltzer and Panda Express’s Orange Chicken sandwich. Panera released a colorful swimsuit collection, and Hydroflask introduced the All Around Travel Tumbler, sparking controversy with Stanley cups.
July was full of adventures, trends, and girl dinners. The Eras Tour continued, and Taylor Swift released Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). Kim Kardashian launched Kimade, an energy drink for busy moms. Rising temperatures led to the invention of adult capri suns on TikTok.
August brought late summer organization and farmers’ markets. The Hydroflask vs Stanley cup competition resumed, and the pickle jar sweatshirt went viral. Controversy struck over beans, but Stanley cups remained popular.
September saw celebrities working at restaurants, Olivia Rodrigo releasing GUTS, and Sonic bringing back pickle fries. We reflected on past controversies and welcomed the return of pumpkin spice products.
October began with a history of spooky cocktails and Starbucks’ designer varsity jacket. Van Leeuwen released dill pickle- and Kraft Mac & Cheese-flavored ice cream. The Era’s Tour movie came out, and Taylor Swift released ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version).’ We celebrated with the Spoon Choice Awards.
November was a month for foodies. Travis Kelce released Kelce Krunch cereal, and McDonald’s launched a crocs collection. A Stanley cup survived a car fire, sparking potential future collaborations.
December isn’t over yet, but it’s been filled with holiday cheer. We enjoyed a hot chocolate recipe from The Polar Express and adorable food and drink Jellycats. As we prepare for 2024, we predict that Taylor Swift and Stanley cups will remain trendy.
