Zoya Hussain Finally Addresses Link-Up Rumours with Jim Sarbh ‘We’re Very Close’

In the ever-buzzing world of entertainment, where rumors and speculation often swirl, actor Zoya Hussain has finally addressed the much-discussed rumors about her relationship with fellow actor Jim Sarbh. The duo first caught the public’s eye with their undeniable chemistry in Prateek Kuhad’s 2018 music video ‘Cold/Mess,’ and continued to intrigue audiences with their collaboration in ‘Into the Night’ a year later. Since then, their close friendship has been a hot topic, with rumors suggesting they began dating in early 2022.

In a candid interview with News18 Showsha, Zoya opened up about these rumors. “It’s personal. It’s my personal life. I’m not aware of what’s written about me, so I don’t know what to say,” she said, adding with a laugh, “It’s true that Jim and I are very good friends. It’s also true that we’re very close.” When asked to share something she’s discovered about Jim, she smiled and revealed, “He’s a very good cook.”

Despite the ongoing speculation, Zoya and Jim have never worked on a film together. However, earlier this year, they co-created a series called ‘Crew Cut,’ which delves into the lives of people working behind the scenes on film sets. This project is prominently featured on Zoya’s Instagram, which notably lacks personal content—a rare stance in an industry where social media presence is often deemed crucial for visibility and career advancement.

In the same conversation, Zoya discussed her unconventional approach to social media. She mentioned that everyone, including her family, talks to her about enhancing her social media game. However, she admitted she is not tech-savvy or social media-savvy, and is taking baby steps. Her reluctance to share personal updates on platforms like Instagram is something she acknowledges as unusual. “Keeping my Instagram updated with the latest pictures doesn’t come naturally to me,” she confessed. “I have a bit of an aversion to it. I think I don’t have that natural wiring to just put out a selfie on Instagram. I don’t even click selfies. It’s wonderful for people who are savvy and good with it because it really makes a difference to them.”

Zoya, who recently featured in Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘Bhaiyya Ji,’ distinguishes herself in an age where social media frequently blurs the boundaries between personal and professional lives. Her dedication to preserving her privacy and concentrating on her artistic work instead of her online persona is both commendable and uncommon.

As she continues to navigate her career, it is clear that Zoya Hussain values genuine connections and authenticity over the fleeting validation of social media metrics. Whether her relationship with Jim Sarbh evolves into something more or remains a deep friendship, her approach to handling the public’s curiosity with grace and humor is commendable. This authenticity might just be what sets her apart in the ever-evolving landscape of the entertainment industry.

Zoya Hussain and Jim Sarbh co-created the YouTube series Crew Cut. Zoya Hussain reveals Jim Sarbh is a good cook. She also opines on whether attending Bollywood parties can translate to work offers. Zoya Hussain and Jim Sarbh had first shared screen space in Prateek Kuhad’s Cold/Mess music video that released in 2018 and then followed it with up Into the Night a year later. Soon, they struck a friendship and according to the grapevine, the duo began dating in early 2022. A post on Reddit also claimed that they’re very much together. Now, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Zoya finally addresses these link-up stories with Jim. “It’s personal. It’s my personal life. I’m not aware of what’s written about me, so I don’t know what to say. It’s true that Jim and I are very good friends. It’s also true that we’re very close,” she chuckles. Quiz her about that one thing she has discovered about him and she smiles, “He’s a very good cook.”

For the unversed, Zoya and Jim haven’t worked on a film ever, but earlier this year, they co-created a YouTube series called Crew Cut that chronicles the work of people behind the camera on a film set. Zoya’s Instagram page, in fact, is all about that and none about her personal life, which is a rarity considering actors of her generation constantly feel the pressure to not lose the sheen from their social media to get more work and visibility.

Admitting to how her social media ‘has pretty much nothing’ in it, Zoya tells us, “I’m told once a week to up my social media game by many people. My family also tells me. But I’m just not tech savvy or social media savvy. I hear it constantly that numbers matter but what do I do? I can only take baby steps and trust me when I say it that I’m really trying, but it’s just not happening.”

The actor, who was recently seen in Manoj Bajpayee’s Bhaiyya Ji, confesses that keeping her Instagram updated with latest pictures ‘don’t come naturally’ to her. “I do have a bit of an aversion to it. I think I don’t have that natural wiring to just put out a selfie on Instagram. I don’t even click selfies. It’s wonderful for people who’re savvy and good with it because it really makes a difference to them,” she says.

Zoya also avoids the social scene of Bollywood parties. Recently, Karan Johar’s conversations with Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor about how attending parties doesn’t translate to work offers gained a lot of attention. Expressing her stance on it, Zoya remarks, “I don’t know if you get work if you go to parties because I’m not a part of that world. I’ve never been to a Bollywood party unless those were launch, wrap or post-screening get-togethers.” The Mukkabaaz actor adds, “It’s definitely nice to keep meeting people and stay connected. But quite honestly, I don’t know how much of that translates to work. Maybe it has for some people but it hasn’t for me. I believe, your work speaks for itself. I don’t think attending parties can replace having a successful film in your kitty or being known as a good performer.”

As Zoya Hussain continues to carve her path in the entertainment industry, her commitment to authenticity and genuine connections remains unwavering. Whether her relationship with Jim Sarbh evolves or stays as a close friendship, her approach to handling public curiosity with grace and humor is truly commendable.
