Kartik Aaryan’s latest film, “Chandu Champion,” has shown significant growth at the box office on its third day. The movie, which hit theaters on June 14, is based on the life of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist in freestyle swimming.

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, “Chandu Champion” features Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. The movie takes viewers on a journey through the various phases of Chandu’s life, including his time as an Indian Army soldier, a wrestler, a boxer, a 1965 war veteran, and a swimmer.
The film has been praised for its emotional and inspiring storyline. The Hindustan Times review highlighted that the movie avoids becoming preachy or portraying the protagonist as an undefeatable hero. Instead, it focuses on Murli’s struggles, hardships, and dedication, making his achievements all the more impressive.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that the film earned ₹11.01 crore on Sunday, bringing the total collection to ₹24.11 crore in its first weekend. The movie is expected to benefit from an extended weekend, as Monday is a holiday, potentially boosting its earnings further.
Despite facing competition from the supernatural horror comedy “Munjya,” “Chandu Champion” has managed to hold its ground. “Munjya,” starring Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma, has also been performing well at the box office. The film earned ₹8.75 crore on its second Sunday, bringing its total collection to ₹55.75 crore. If the trend continues, “Munjya” might cross the ₹60 crore mark on Monday.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Amar Kaushik and Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, “Munjya” has defied expectations and continues to perform well in its second week.
As “Chandu Champion” continues to attract audiences, it will be interesting to see how the film performs in the coming days. With its inspiring storyline and strong performances, the movie has the potential to become a significant hit at the box office.
