Billy Ray Cyrus has recently leveled serious accusations against his estranged wife, Firerose, claiming she has deliberately cut him off from one of his daughters. The 62-year-old country star filed an amended complaint on June 17 in Williamson County, Tennessee, as part of his ongoing annulment and divorce proceedings, which initially began on May 23.
According to the complaint obtained by PEOPLE, Cyrus alleges that Firerose, 36, has been orchestrating a campaign to isolate him from his family since the original filing. Specifically, he discovered that Firerose had blocked at least one of his daughters from being able to contact him via his phone or other electronic devices.
Cyrus shares two daughters, Miley, 31, and Noah, 24, with his ex-wife Tish. He also adopted Brandi, 37, Tish’s daughter from a previous relationship. The complaint does not specify which daughter Firerose allegedly tried to isolate him from.
In addition to these allegations, Cyrus claims Firerose lied about her marital history, falsely claimed her last name, and is attempting to leverage the Cyrus name to advance her career. He also accused her of making 37 unauthorized charges on his business credit card, totaling nearly $97,000, after he filed for divorce.
Firerose’s attorneys have denied these allegations, stating that the charges were not unauthorized. They argue that during the divorce proceedings, both parties are to maintain the status quo of their marital lifestyle, and Firerose was simply living as she had since their marriage began in October 2023.
In her counter-filing, Firerose alleged that she was subjected to extreme verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse by Cyrus. She also claimed that Cyrus filed for divorce just one day before she was scheduled to undergo a planned surgery for breast cancer.
The legal battle between Cyrus and Firerose has been fraught with accusations from both sides. Firerose’s attorneys have yet to respond to the latest amended complaint.
The couple’s tumultuous relationship has been under public scrutiny since they tied the knot in October 2023. Cyrus cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct as reasons for their split. He is also seeking an annulment of their short-lived marriage on the grounds of fraud.
The court documents reveal a complex and contentious divorce process, with both parties making serious allegations against each other. As the legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen how these accusations will impact the final outcome of their divorce.
