Halle Berry revealed that she became a cat lover after her role in "Catwoman." In a recent discussion, the 57-year-old actress shared how she has adopted multiple kittens, reflecting on her experience in the 2004 superhero film. Despite the harsh criticism it received, she noted that the backlash from the film left her feeling somewhat haunted.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Halle explained the surprising benefits of starring in the movie. "I became a cat lover because of it. Just three weeks ago, I rescued four kittens that I found in my garden. I am a Catwoman to the core, thanks to that experience and those relationships. It truly changed me."
Entertainment Weekly referred to Halle as a "self-proclaimed lifelong dog person." Interestingly, she also has two Labradoodles. Recently, she shared on her Instagram account that she adopted two kittens from a stray cat family she discovered in her garden.
In her post, she posed with two of the kittens, named Boots and Coco. She wrote: "I found these two little furry babies in my garden along with their two siblings and their mom! I have spayed the mom and let her go in my garden, so now she is our outdoor cat. I’ve found homes for the other two babies, and these two are our new loves. Our home is full!"
Halle further elaborated to Entertainment Weekly about her preparations for "Catwoman." She revealed that she was given a cat at the start of production because she didn’t have one at the time. "His name was Playdough. I watched, studied, and learned how cats think. I didn’t have the responsibilities of kids and family; I was a single woman with plenty of time to focus on that. I crawled around my house, trying to jump on my counters, thinking, ‘If I were a cat, how would I get up there?’ I did it all day, every day."
